A pyronite-human hybrid kid named Alan, who's in possession of an plumber badge, is blamed for the local crop burnings and is captured by the police. His plumber badge gets taken, activating it. This makes Ben, Gwen, and Kevin, who're in search for allies, come to his location and discover what's happening.

• Continuity Nod: Both Kevin and Ben take note that Alan "looks like Heatblast".
• Crop Circles: The crop burnings created some of them. Gwen remarks that they resemble circuit boards. They are revealed to indeed be circuit boards made by the DNAliens, who built them so they can activate their weather towers.
• Foreshadowing: While discussing how Alan possibly got his powers, Kevin tells Gwen that humans with alien bloodlines are surprisingly common, and most of the time said humans have superpowers. He then makes the assumption that this is where Gwen gets her ability to use magic from, which she dismisses. Five episodes later, it turns out Kevin was right.
• Hero Antagonist: Sheriff Mason. He's just a cop, who wrongly believes that Alan was responsible for the burnings. When he discovers that he was wrong, he immediately focuses his attention to the DNAliens and asks Alan to stay, so he can help if any more aliens show up.
• Human Popsicle: Gwen, Kevin, Sherrif Mason and his cops get frozen by the DNAlien's freeze rays. They later get freed by Swampfire and Alan.
• No-Sell: Due to being a Half-Human Hybrid with an alien that's constantly on fire, Alan is immune to the DNAlien's freeze rays. Swampfire is a double-subverted example, as while he's initially frozen by them as well, he's able to free himself a few minutes later.
• Noodle Incident: Upon being reprimanded by Gwen for getting a very expensive speeding ticket, Kevin notes that he considers it "a new record" and stashes it in the glove compartment, filled to the brim with several police citations. What Kevin possibly did to earn that many tickets is never explained.
• The Reveal: The DNAliens are revealed to be behind the crop burnings.
• Shout-Out: The town where Alan is based is named "Porter's Mill".
• Weather-Control Machine: The Highbreed Weather towers can manipulate the environment. Due to them preferring the cold, the one in this episode causes it to snow.
