The five hybrids finally arrive in Equestria and are taken in by the various kingdoms to live among their own kind. But they soon find themselves miserable there and soon discover "their own kind" was with them all along.
- All of the Other Reindeer: The other hybrids all feel like outcasts in the kingdoms that take them in. Drift is put off by how most other griffons are rude and greedy, Pearl shocks the other hippogriffs and seaponies due to being able to transform without a pearl shard, Scales is treated as not a real dragon by the others due to his origins, and Charger is a klutz in the snow and isn't given anything to do by the villagers.
- "Eureka!" Moment: When the hybrids all voice how miserable they are in their kingdoms, Scales comments how apparently "looking like a dragon and acting like a dragon doesn't make you a real dragon". This causes Drift to realize that even though they all look like normal Equestrians, they aren't like them, so they don't need to live among them, especially since nobody is forcing them to stay.
- Happy Ending Override: After spending an entire "season" trying to get the hybrids to Equestria so they can live with their own kind and be safe and happy there, the hybrids quickly find themselves miserable in the kingdoms that took them in and missing each other. Subverted when they all meet up and decide to travel the world together rather than return to their kingdoms. It is unclear if they will ever find a permanent place to call home, but that doesn't matter to them since they have realized their home is with each other. Princess Twilight also assures them she will always be willing to help them if they ever need it.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Ember is the only dragon that tries to make Scales feel welcome and is sorry for his bad treatment from the others, but knows ordering the other dragons to treat him better won't solve anything.
- True Companions: The hybrids all show they are this to each other, all of them excitingly reuniting after a miserable month apart. Once they all decide to explore the world together, they stop in Ponyville just to pick up Scoop and invite him to come with them, with him instantly agreeing too.
- Walking the Earth: The five hybrids ultimately decide to become nomads, exploring the world together and searching for a place they can all call home together.
