Zeta returns to Gotham with Ro in hopes of finding his creator Dr. Selig at a science convention. Unfortunately, he is immediately attacked by Agent Bennett upon arrival. Things go From Bad to Worse when the fight between Zeta and the NSA gets intercepted by Mad Stan, who initially rescues Zeta but then discovers that he is a synthoid. Stan then decides to use the robot for his own purpose: Strapping a time bomb to his back and sending him off to sabotage "the Feds." It is now up to Batman to find Zeta and disarm the bomb before it is too late.

Tropes:

  • Action Bomb: Zeta is unknowingly turned into one by Mad Stan. Batman stops it Just in Time.
  • Crossover: With The Zeta Project.
  • A Day in the Limelight: A villainous example for Mad Stan. While he was usually used as a minor throwaway villain before, he finally becomes the actual focus of the episode this time around.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Mad Stan turns Zeta into an Action Bomb and sets him loose in the city...because the cost of pet license renewals (Mad Stan has a dog) has been increased.
  • The Dreaded: Batman to the Jokerz at this point. When a few of them attempt to mug Ro, Batman intervenes and, after a very brief fight, tells them to "get lost." This alone is enough to scare them away.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Zeta, as usual.
Ro: I can't believe you actually trusted Mad Stan! I mean, wasn't the name kind of a giveaway?
    Zeta: But he seemed so...cheerful.
    Ro: You are so clueless.
  • Jerkass: Agent Bennett. Batman requests his aid to find Zeta and the bomb, but he actually considers it to be a positive since the bomb would destroy Zeta. When Batman points out that the explosion would also kill innocent people, Bennett remains unmoved and refuses to help. Although it may have been all an act he put on to trick Batman into thinking that he was stopping his chase of Zeta, possibly thinking it was some scheme Batman and Zeta were on.
  • Kansas City Shuffle: How Batman and Zeta fool the NSA. When Agent Bennett has the building they're located in surrounded, Batman flies away in the Batmobile seemingly to distract the agents but they ignore him, focusing only on capturing Zeta. When they infiltrate the building though, they find only Terry in civilian clothes. "Batman" was actually Zeta in disguise making his escape.
  • Mugging the Monster: Several Jokerz who attempt to jump Zeta. Made funnier by the fact that one of them hits Zeta with a lead pipe, breaking the pipe. Despite seeing this, they still decide to continue attacking him anyway.
  • Obviously Evil: Mad Stan, something of which Zeta fails to take notice of.
  • Smooch of Victory: In gratitude for him rescuing Zeta, Ro gives Batman a quick peck on the cheek, visibly embarrassing him.
  • Why Am I Ticking?: Mad Stan puts a bomb on oblivious Zeta and sets him loose in Gotham.
