Armin and Gabi barely manage to get to Ragako before Connie feeds Falco to his mother.
Pieck arrives to save Yelena, Onyankopon, and Jean from the Yeagerists, using Jean's gunshots as the signal.
Brick Joke: At the start of the episode, Connie lies about wanting to brush the House Titan's teeth in order to trick Falco into getting devoured by it. Later, after Jean is shown throwing up from being in the Cart Titsn's mouth, Hange asks if Pieck ever brushes her titan's teeth.
Contrived Coincidence: What were the chances of Annie being right next to Armin and Connie in the exact moment the latter two wonder where she could be?
Death Seeker: After Zeke's disappearance, Yelena seems to have lost any will to live. When she's about to be executed by Floch and he asks her if she has any last words, all Yelena has to say is "You gonna shoot or what?".
Fingore: In this episode it's shown the extension of the wounds Levi got when Zeke made the thunder spear explode, and it's shown that he lost some of his fingers.
Heel Realization: Connie understands his mother wouldn't want him to feed Falco to her, and that inheriting one of the nine Titans would make her suffer in the long run. He also remembers her words about how he must do good things as a soldier, and that feeding to her a kid that did nothing wrong to him or let one of his friends sacrifice himself would go against it.
Heroic Sacrifice: Armin offers himself to be fed to Connie's mother so Connie doesn't have to feed Falco to her. Subverted because this causes Connie to have a Heel Realization and save Armin in the last second.
Jabba Table Manners: Annie, of all people, and Connie loudly mocks her for it. Both Played for Laughs and justified because Annie didn't eat anything during the fours years she spent inside the crystal.
"The Reason You Suck" Speech: Onyankopon delivers a harsh one to the yeagerists before his supposed execution at Jean's hands.
Onyankopon: And what to I get for my efforts? My homeland is crushed. My family is dead. And what's left? A bunch of incompetent, xenophobic dirtbags? My life isn't so valuable that I'd kiss up to you to keep it! Shouldn't you know how horrible it is to be killed for no good reason?
Voiceover Letter: Annie's note to Hitch, bidding her farewell and thanking her for keeping talking to her during the last four years, is narrated with Annie's voice.
