Hooray For North Hollywood (Part 1): The Warners write a movie script and pitch it to Thaddeus Plotz.
Hooray For North Hollywood (Part 1) contains examples of:
- Bait-and-Switch: Yakko tells Plotz that he sees an Academy Award in their future... just not for their movie. Then he says that Spielberg's gonna direct... a different movie. But they've got Zemeckis... Freddy Zemeckis from accounting.
- Bookends: The episode begins and ends with The Goodfeathers on a wire, always ending with Pesto beating up Squit.
- Grand Finale: Along with Part 2, even though both episodes aired out of order, this is the final episode of the series before the reboot.
- Sequel Hook: The episode, minus the Goodfeathers pre-credit scene, ends with the Warners heading off for Beverly Hills in hopes of getting their script approved.
- To Be Continued: How the episode ends along with a dramatic music sting.
- The Cameo:
- The Hip Hippos and Minerva Mink are seen near the beginning of the episode. The hippos also appear - as do Slappy, Skippy, Buttons and Mindy - during the first musical number.
- At one point, you can see the top of Bart Simpson's head.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: We see caricatures of Steven Spielberg, Joe Eszterhas, George Lucas, Martin Short, and Steven Seagal.
- Sequel Episode: A new version of "Variety Speak" is sung.
- That Reminds Me of a Song: There are FOUR songs, but one that's very out-of-place is "There's Only One of You", which has nothing to do with the episode's plot.
