Airdate: April 22nd, 1994

"Baloney and Kids" contains examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Baloney calls Yakko "Jakko".
  • Anvil on Head: Happens to Baloney. Multiple times. It doesn't affect him one bit.
  • Kids' Show Mascot Parody: Baloney is an obvious parody of Barney the Dinosaur.
  • Rhyming with Itself: The theme song to Baloney and Kids, which, like its source, is set to the tune of "Yankee Doodle", has purposely lazy lyrics:
    Baloney is our friendly friend
    That we made up ourselves
    He likes to play
    And sing all day
    That we made up ourselves
  • Shaped Like Itself: During the Imagine Song, Baloney says two of the letters mean...their respective letters. "A is for the letter A, G is for G!" Also, during the mask game, Baloney's mask is of...himself.
  • Spelling Song: Baloney's "Imagine" Song:
    "I" is for "imagine",
    "M" is for "me",
"A" is for the letter "a",
    "G" for "gee",
    "I" is for... "imagine",
    "N" is for "nice",
    "E" is for "Egad,
    I said 'Imagine' twice!"
  • Take That!:
    • The entire segment is just one long Take That! at Barney & Friends.
    • The short also begins with a slam at PBS and other similar stations, with the announcement that Baloney and Friends is brought to you by the Stupid Broadcasting Service.
Announcement: Baloney And Kids is brought to you by this station and other stations that lack clever programming!
  • That Reminds Me of a Song: Baloney sings a lot. The Warners then get into the act with "The Anvil Song".

"Super Buttons" contains examples of:

  • Badly Battered Babysitter: Super Buttons, and not just in the episode's main plot. The prologue shows him being hit by a bus, attacked by a pack of doberman pinschers, hit by a tree, and poked in the butt by a nail. In the main plot, Super Buttons gets struck by lightning, falls into a trash-filled dumpster, gets swung into a building by a wrecking ball, flattened by a bus that Super Mindy tosses aside, blown up by the dynamite that the thieves planted in the bank, run over by a police car, tangled in the carnivorous spider-person's net and flattened by her giant fly swatter, all just to keep Super Mindy safe.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Super Mindy is returned home safely, but Super Buttons gets punished by Super Mindy's Parents for leaving the yard. However, Super Mindy kisses Buttons and tells him she loves him.
  • Chasing a Butterfly: Super Mindy chasing a bird is what sets off this episode's plot.
  • Denied Food as Punishment: Super Mindy's Parents punish Super Buttons for leaving the yard by telling him he won't get a treat.
  • Exact Words: The prologue describes Super Buttons being faster than a speeding greyhound and more powerful than a doberman pinscher. Buttons is shown to be slower than a speeding bus and less powerful than a pack of doberman pinschers.
  • Freudian Excuse: When Super Mindy comes across a pair of bank robbers, she asks them why they're robbing the bank. One of them tells her that maybe their moms didn't hug them when they were kids.
  • Superhero Episode: It's your typical Buttons and Mindy short... but here, they're SUPERHEROES!
  • Thumbtack on the Chair: A variant; after Super Buttons stops Super Mindy from walking onto a nail in a plank of wood, he sits on the nail, putting himself in pain.
  • Toilet Humor: When the citizens point out Super Buttons, one of them says "And I hear he's not housebroken!", causing them to scream and flee in horror.
  • Trash Landing: As Super Buttons chases Super Mindy and the bird through some storm clouds, he holds up an umbrella to keep himself dry. Lightning strikes the umbrella, causing Super Buttons to fall and land in a dumpster filled with trash.

"Katie Ka-Boom: The Driving Lesson" contains examples of:

  • Drives Like Crazy: Katie, after going berserk.
  • Impact Silhouette: Katie leaves one in her garage door when she drives her family's car through it.
  • Karma Houdini: Katie receives no comeuppance for her disrespectful attitude towards her family, or her destruction of their car or the neighborhood's property.
