Karaoke-Dokie contains examples of:
- Diegetic Soundtrack Usage: At one point Yakko whistles the show's theme song.
- Funny Background Event: Pay attention during the scene where Dr. Scratchensniff is talking to several bored-looking children—one of them has a mustache.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: Willie Slakmer is a parody of William Shatner. Eventually, a parody of Leonard Nimoy named Lenny Neeboy shows up.
- Public Domain Soundtrack: All of the songs on the karaoke machine are public domain children's songs, such as "Baa Baa Black Sheep", "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt", and "London Bridge Is Falling Down".
- Shout-Out:
- The part where Willie Slakmer sings to a "double" of himself shot from a different angle is a direct reference to Shatner's performance of "Rocket Man" at the 1978 Science Fiction Film Awards.
- The William Shatner parody is followed by a Leonard Nimoy parody, an obvious reference to Star Trek: The Original Series. It's lampshaded by Dot.
The Cranial Crusader contains examples of:
- Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?: "I think so, Brain, but I can't memorize a whole opera in Yiddish."
- Batman Parody
- Non Sequitur, *Thud*: After getting smashed by a phone book, the Brain groans, "Did you know this phone book has three separate listings for... nitro-burning funnycars?"
The Chicken Who Loved Me contains examples of:
- Threatening Shark: Chicken Boo runs afoul of them at one point.
- Whole-Plot Reference: Chicken Boo portrays Boo. James Boo.
