Johan Sebastian Kwak falls in love with Anna van de Polder. Eventually they get married and have children, of which Alfred is the oldest. However, the family must move when K. Rokodil and Hannibal start building an amusement park in the polder.

- Foreshadowing: In one of the first scenes in the very first episode, Johan crosses a trafficked road and narrowly avoids being hit by a car, foreshadowing the accident in the second episode. Alfred does the same later but isn't even spooked, foreshadowing that he'll survive.
- Furry Confusion: A random rooster crow is heard, and a tree is packed with non-anthropomorphic crows that scatter into air.
- Papa Wolf: Johan goes through Hell and back to save his egg.
- Panicky Expectant Father: Johan acts like this after Anna has laid the eggs.
- Small Role, Big Impact: The racist crow and blackbird are later revealed to be Dolf's parents, giving some explanation for his behavior.
- Ridiculously Fast Construction: The construction is started at about midday, stopped for the night, and everything is up and running and already making profit in the next morning/midday.
- Toothy Bird: Johan brushes his teeth before going to court Anna.
