Finn brings a special delivery for Cinnamon Bun to the Fire Kingdom but it may come with a dangerous cost.

Tropes:

  • Brutal Honesty: Despite her cheerful demeanor, Bun Bun rather bluntly tells the Flame King that his plan (to make an army of brainwashed chipmunks and take back the Fire Kingdom) won't work.
  • Continuity Nod: Cinnamon Bun's flashback to his pre-bake antics is taken from "The Enchiridion!" The footage is re-animated so as to not include his Early Installment Character-Design Difference, but the audio is unchanged.
  • Character Development:
    • Cinnamon Bun is not the same naïve, clumsy oaf that he was while in the Candy Kingdom. Being Flame Princess' bodyguard has made him more responsible, and he looks at his old self with regret.
    • Flame King realizes that he doesn't want to take over the Flame Kingdom anymore. With a 0% Approval Rating, being ruler again would lead to civil war without end, and his heart is not in it anymore.
    • Finn is shown to have matured greatly since he and Flame Princess last met in "The Red Throne", and are back on good terms after Finn basically refused all contact with her after he assumed she and Cinnamon Bun were dating. Finn even greets Cinnamon Bun in a friendly manner.
  • Cheerful Child: Bun Bun has this personality.
  • Funny Background Event: While Finn and Flame Princess talk, Cinnamon Bun and Bun Bun are seen outside the window chasing after Flame King.
  • I Hate Past Me: Cinnamon Bun does not feel positively about the way he acted before taking a level in intelligence.
  • Opposite-Sex Clone: Bun Bun is a female clone made from the leftovers of Cinnamon Bun's creation.
  • Shout-Out: Bun Bun's "I love you, bye-bye!" is probably one to Mindy's catchphrase "Okay I love you bye-bye!". Both of them are incredibly heedless "toddlers" whose minders are helpless to keep them out of trouble: Buttons never stops trying and usually ends up in trouble because the last thing he did to keep Mindy safe winds up looking bad to her mother while Cinnamon Bun fails to stop Bun Bun from joining the Flame King but things wind up okay in the end.
  • What Does This Button Do?: Cinnamon Bun tries to warn Bun Bun not to touch the button that releases the Flame King, but he's not halfway through talking when Bun Bun rushes over to press it.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Flame Lord is conspicuously absent from the lantern Flame King is held in, having been imprisoned in there in "The Red Throne". The death of his voice actor, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, is the most likely reason.
