When Finn starts having nightmares about his missing Finn Sword, he wonders if they're actually real.

Tropes:

  • And I Must Scream: Finn Sword, being a sword, is totally helpless to stop anyone from using him for evil. While he can scream and shout about it all he wants, it doesn't do much good.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Jake lists the possible subjects of Finn's nightmares as "Break-up, Lich, me dying, you dying, other break-up, growing up, never growing up, or spiders?"
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Bandit Princess defeats Finn and gets away.
  • Barehanded Blade Block: While fighting Bandit Princess, Finn stops her blade with his hands.
  • Callback:
    • Science Cat shows up at the tree fort for his daily fight with Finn, like he did back in "My Two Favorite People". Since Sword Shark died of old age, Science Cat is accompanied by Spear Bear.
    • Finn's thorn hand is able to produce the Grass Sword in its original form. Which is great, since he has to fight Bandit Princess, who stole his Finn Sword.
    • Among the towns Bandit Princess attacks are the Spike village from "Gut Grinder" and Box Kingdom from "Box Prince".
  • Cliffhanger: The Finn Sword's broken, and Finn either blacked out or went comatose. However, the Grass Sword piece that impaled the Finn Sword fuses with it, and the episode ends with Finn Sword suspiciously glowing green...
  • Dressed in Layers: Ready to go rescue his missing sword, Finn tears off his pajamas, revealing that he's wearing his regular clothes underneath.
  • Freudian Excuse: Bandit Princess is an evil thief because she was born with rabies and neglected by her parents, who had mono. So she says, anyway.
  • Hypocritical Humor: BMO scoffs at Finn for talking to an inanimate object, before talking to a power cord.
  • Killing Your Alternate Self: Finn accidentally destroys the part of the Finn Sword that contained the Finn from an alternate timeline.
  • Losing Your Head: Bandit Princess decapitates mayor Cameron, but he survives and later reattaches his head.
  • Psychic Link: When stolen by Bandit Princess, the Finn Sword contacts Finn with psychic visions to guide him to his location.
  • Shout-Out: Spear Bear has a spear marking on his belly.
  • Suddenly Voiced: Finn Sword doesn't speak to Bandit Princess at first, until he needs to speak up about being used to kill the innocent.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Bandit Princess flees after Finn accidentally stabs the Finn Sword.
  • Wrecked Weapon: During Finn's fight with Bandit Princess, the Finn Sword gets stabbed through its crystal part, breaking it. Because of Finn's link with the sword, he either blacks out or falls into a coma as a result.
