Jake's now a daddy, but being a father and keeping his rainicorn pups from killing themselves or each other is a lot harder than he imagined.

Tropes

  • Amazing Technicolor Population: What Jake's kids does to the foxes, making them have bright colors.
  • The Blank: Jake Jr does not have a face, just odd wrinkles where her eyes should be.
  • Bumbling Dad: Jake is incapable of keeping his kids under control, while Lady can get instant obedience without even raising her voice.
  • Combining Mecha: Jake's kids combine into a giant spinning-top thing to rescue him from the foxes.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Jake's mom has a response for everything in order to prepare Jake to raise children in her video guide.
  • Cool Uncle: Finn play-wrestles with his adoptive nieces and nephews, and if their giggling is any indication it's a fun time for them.
  • Eats Babies: The Baby Eating Fox and the Babies story. Jake quickly realizes how wrong it was to read this to his children. Which leads to foxes getting the same idea when Jake accidentally throws the book to them.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Jake Jr. and Charlie are girls. It's not specified if Charlie is short for anything like Charlene or Charlotte.
  • Makes Just as Much Sense in Context: The bizarre and curiously disturbing sequence where Jake finds BMO dancing on Finn's stomach while singing a song about bread and waving two slices of it, while Finn sucks on his controller.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The gang of foxes would never have gotten the idea to eat babies in the first place if Jake hadn't thrown his book about a baby-eating fox out the window.
  • Patchwork Kids: Jake's and Lady's kids are all different random mixtures of stretchy dog and Rainicorn.
  • Posthumous Character: Jake's mom is confirmed to have previously passed away in this episode.
  • Rapid Aging: Rainicorns are implied to mature more quickly than normal people. In a few days, Jake's kids are technically older than he is.
  • Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Played with. Jake throws the baby-eating fox book out the window because he believes it to be too frightening to his puppies. It lands in the hands of a fox who reads it and tells all his fox friends how easy it seems to eat babies and they all decide to go find some babies and eat them.
  • Status Quo Is God: Jake returns to live with Finn once his children grow up.
  • Teleportation: All of Jake's children have this power.
