- Accidental Hero: Jake saves Finn from the gnomes and destroys their doomsday device, but largely as a side effect of being overwhelmed by the Party God's "party energy".
- Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Jake has problems with this throughout the episode; he keeps getting distracted when trying to rescue Finn.
- Daydream Surprise: Finn is put into the brain machine, breaks out of it in a rage, and beats the gnomes up, and Jake then bursts in and is reunited with him. Cut to Finn still in the brain machine, obviously fantasizing.
