- Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?: The following exchange, after Finn and Jake hear of Snorlock's woes:Finn: Jake, what do you think?
Jake: I think our house is jacked-up. - Body Horror: Played for laughs, but Finn is severely weirded out by the sight of Jake in the shape of first a female and then a male snail.
- Book Ends: The episode begins and ends with BMO annoying Jake by playing music too loudly.
- Cannot Talk to Women: The first time Snorlock tries to talk to a lady snail, he has a total freak-out.
- Freeze-Frame Bonus: Close examination of the scene where Snorlock busts into Finn and Jake's house makes it obvious he doesn't have a shell, foreshadowing the reveal that he's actually a giant slug.
- Non-Mammal Mammaries. Several of the female snails have breasts, as does Jake when in the shape of a lady snail.
- Perverted Sniffing: Snorlock (mis)uses Jake's suggested pick-up line about saying a lady smells nice and ends up doing this to a female snail, scaring her away. Jake sniffed Finn's hand in a similar manner, grossing Finn out.
- The Reveal: Snorlock's bad luck with the lady giant snails is because he's a giant slug, not a snail.
- Salt Solution: Giant snails turn out to be just as vulnerable to salt as regular-sized ones.
- Sexy Man, Instant Harem: A horde of lady snails congregates as soon as Snorlock starts beatboxing.
- Simpleton Voice: Snorlock has a mild case of this.
- Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: The female snails' assorted eyelashes, lipstick mouths, hats and hair decorations.
