Honestly, I liked having Tom stick with the king cobra morph for my fics (even though he wasn’t the one to acquire it) because I like the contrast it provides. [...] Tom is canonically quite large and strong in his regular human body, so it’s a lot more fun to play around with him having a relatively small and delicate battle morph whose major strengths (being dexterous and well-camouflaged) compensate for his human self’s weaknesses.
