"I'm not just playing devil's advocate when I say that there's a legitimate argument to be made that Mario exhibits an understanding of Italian people that's superficial, cartoonish, and outdated. And there's nothing I can ever do about it. (beat) But honestly, there's nothing I'd ever want to do about it. Because I love Mario. I'm glad Mario's Italian, because it makes me happy to know that there's an Italian character out there that people really care about and enjoy.
