Richard Baxton piloted his Recon Rover into a fungal vortex and held off four waves of mind worms, saving an entire colony. We immediately purchased his identity manifests and repackaged him into the "Recon Rover Rick" character with a multi-tiered media campaign — televids, touchbooks, holos, psi-tours—the works. People need heroes. They don't need to know how he died clawing his eyes out, screaming for mercy. The real story would just hurt sales, and dampen the spirits of our customers.

"Plagam extremam infilgere! Plagam extremam infilgere!"
If you read our last adventure, you may recall the final terrifying scene where Tippy Tinkletrousers ended up cowering beneath the gigantic foot of Zombie Nerd Harold. You were probably horrified when the super-sized shoe slammed down to the ground, leaving behind a squishy, red stain. You may even have commented on the surprising inappropriateness of such a murderous and bloody scene appearing in a children's book. It's fun to feel offended, isn't it?
