Basic Trope: Acting against a person spying on you by supernatural means.

  • Straight: Emperor Evulz is using crows to spy on Alice, up until Alice suddenly turns to look directly at the crow and screams, "I can see you!", killing the crow with a well-placed stone throw and giving Evulz a headache.
  • Exaggerated: Killing the crow kills Evulz as well.
  • Downplayed: Alice acknowledges that Evulz is spying on her, giving him quite a scare.
  • Justified: Alice has telepathy and senses Evulz' mind in the crow. She's not happy that the Big Bad is spying on her secret activities, and Evulz' headache results from the psychic backlash of the crow's death.
  • Inverted:
    • Alice The Dragon heals Evulz through his crow.
    • Evulz hurts Alice through his crow.
  • Subverted: Alice throws a stone at the crow, but after a second, a nearby dove starts mocking her in Evulz' voice that she's just killed an innocent animal.
  • Double Subverted: Alice promptly breaks the dove's neck.
  • Parodied: Alice is confident that the CIA is spying on her by pizza, so she violently attacks everyone she sees with one.
  • Zig-Zagged: Evulz is spying on Alice by his crow when Alice screams, "I can see you" and throws a stone. The stone, however, hits a nearby dove, but Evulz is so freaked out, he jumps out of the crow's mind so abruptly it gives him a headache.
  • Averted: Evulz has no supernatural means of spying on Alice.
  • Enforced: "You want Evulz to have Surveillance as the Plot Demands, but then Alice won't be able to do anything! How about this: she takes down his crow and we make up something about the headache preventing him from spying on her during the crucial part."
  • Lampshaded: "Ouch, Alice. That must've hurt." "Serves him right for peeping on us!"
  • Invoked: Alice spends all night on meditation to find out which of the animals surrounding her is Evulz's spy.
  • Exploited: Alice uses Evulz's headache to retrieve a crucial Plot Coupon without his knowledge.
  • Defied:
    • Evulz observes Alice closely and backs off when he thinks she noticed him.
    • Alice lets Evulz spy on her, as this way, he's not spying on The Chosen One, Claire—basically, she's the distraction.
  • Discussed: "This bird looks creepy. What if it's Evulz's spy?" "Then we'll just shoot it. That should give him a pause."
  • Conversed: "I must say, I was just as surprised as Evulz when Alice killed that crow—only thankfully, I didn't get a headache."
  • Implied: The Dragon sees Evulz walking out of his tower, rubbing his forehead and saying, "Fetch me another crow."
  • Deconstructed: Only Alice can sense that Evulz is spying on her, and soon her friends tell her to stop with her unexplained cruelty to animals, to the glee of Evulz, who's on his third pack of ibuprofen and is now happy to spy on Alice without distraction.
  • Reconstructed: Alice finally manages to prove to the others that Evulz is spying on them by crows. Evulz goes to fetch another crow and another pack of headache pills.
  • Played for Laughs: Evulz' minions sit under his tower when suddenly they hear a loud "Ouch!" and then "Not again! Someone bring me another crow!" They turn to one of them, whose arms and hands are full of bird bite marks.
  • Played for Drama:

You! Stop peeping or I'll give you a Poke in the Third Eye!
