Basic Trope: A character is forced to kill themselves by someone with authority.
- Straight: Emperor Evulz forces his subordinate Draco to kill himself after he fails to capture Hiro.
- Exaggerated: Evulz forces 2,000 subordinates to kill themselves via Cruel and Unusual Death.
- He not only takes out Draco, but his entire extended family, all of his acquaintances, and all of his soldiers, and he is made an Un-person.
- Downplayed: Evulz forces Draco to severely injure himself.
- Justified:
- Evulz thinks Draco has failed him.
- Draco is a Complete Monster fond of Rape, Pillage, and Burn. This is too much for even Evulz.
- Inverted: Evulz forces Draco to resurrect himself.
- Evulz is deathly ill. Evulz orders Draco to Mercy Kill him.
- Draco requests that Evulz kill him for his failure.
- Subverted: It turns out that the command to force Draco to kill himself was forged.
- Double Subverted: But Evulz still wants him to kill himself.
- Parodied: Evulz forces Draco to tickle himself to death with a feather. This is viewed as the worst punishment ever.
- Averted: Evulz decides to execute Draco instead of forcing him to kill himself.
