Basic Trope: The first episode is much different from the rest of the series.

  • Straight: The first episode of "The Adventures of Alice and Bob" is a Slice of Life. The rest of the series focuses more on action/adventure.
  • Exaggerated: "The Adventures of Alice and Bob" has a very noticeable tone shift just after its first episode, such as Darker and Edgier, Lighter and Softer, Hotter and Sexier, Denser and Wackier, Bloodier and Gorier, Younger and Hipper, or Ruder and Cruder.
  • Downplayed: The first episode of "The Adventures of Alice and Bob" shows some characters having slightly different personalities than they do for the rest of the series.
  • Justified:
    • The first episode of "The Adventures of Alice and Bob" took place before there was any need for action/adventure. For instance, it may show how they got their powers.
    • The first episode takes place before Alice and Bob undergo Character Development.
  • Inverted: The last episode is much different from the rest of the series.
  • Subverted: The second episode seems like it's going to be different from the first, but it isn't.
  • Double Subverted: Not in the first few minutes, anyway - the second episode quickly switches to a different tone.
  • Parodied:
  • Zig Zagged: Some parts of the first episode are similar to the rest of the show, but some aren't.
  • Averted: The first episode is much like the rest of the show.
  • Enforced: The first episode is an instance of Early-Installment Weirdness due to the creator not having a finalized idea for the show yet.
  • Lampshaded: "I feel like things are gonna change after this."
  • Invoked: Alice and Bob decide to become heroes after the first episode.
  • Exploited:
  • Defied:
  • Discussed: "I don't remember anything like that in the first episode."
