- Straight: Vice Admiral Edward Evulz is in charge of the Tropelandic SS Tropenought, and he's got a few screws loose, being an Ax-Crazy jackass.
- Exaggerated: Fleet Admiral Evulz is in charge of an entire Tropeland Navy Fleet, and he's an Omnicidal Maniac.
- Downplayed: Captain Evulz is in charge of a frigate, and is a bit of a cloudcuckoolander.
- Justified: Vice Admiral Evulz had been stuck at sea for well over multiple years; Sanity Slippage was practically inevitable.
- Inverted:
- The Captain Timothy Berius is a relatively inexperienced captain, but damn is he surprisingly competent for managing something as small as the Wikistani corvette Mighty Mouse to absolutely wipe out several entire fleets in a row, all by itself, and he's cool-headed to the point where people might think that he's some kind of Fearless Fool. His crewmates under his command are a completely different story, however.
- Master Chief Draco Delaroix is Vice Admiral Evulz' enforcer, and he's a scary Sociopathic Soldier all too happy to dish out some corporal (or capital) punishment.
- Subverted: Vice Admiral Evulz isn't actually all that crazy. Just a little hammy and bombastic.
- Double Subverted: His bubbly, boisterous demeanor is a Mask of Sanity for his Ax-Crazy Omnicidal Maniac tendencies.
- Parodied: For some bizarre reason, the higher you are in rank, the more cuckoo you are. Like Rank Scales with Asskicking, but replace the asskicking with insanity.
- Zig-Zagged: Vice Admiral Evulz has a really ambiguous situation as to what his head's going through; Is he simply just hammy, or is he actually crazy?
- Averted: Evulz isn't above the rank of captain.
- Enforced: Rule of Drama.
- Lampshaded: "Christ... How the hell hasn't he been Kicked Upstairs or forced into early retirement yet? He's gonna bring us with him on the way down..."
- Invoked: Vice Admiral Evulz is an Inexperienced Killer, so he tries to make himself go crazy so that he'll mentally prepare himself to kill something.
- Exploited: Vice Admiral Evulz is actually Obfuscating Insanity, and is trying to appear weird and kooky so that he won't be taken seriously. Or perhaps, he uses his own insanity to make himself appear too weird and kooky to be taken seriously, doubling as a Bunny-Ears Lawyer.
- Defied: Vice Admiral Evulz is Kicked Upstairs or forced into early retirement, because no way in hell will he be commanding even a corvette, let alone the SS Tropenought.

- Played for Laughs: Vice Admiral Evulz is comically crazy... but so is his crew.
- Played for Drama: Vice Admiral Evulz has taken ahold of the SS Tropenought, and is planning to fire a salvo of nuclear cruise missiles heading for the Wikistani Capital, which necessitates its top Ace Pilot, Reaper 1, to stop the madman once and for all.
Watch out for that Insane Admiral. Heard he's planning on nuking the capital of Wikistan...
