Basic Trope: Humans in a work are shown to be the most powerful species.
- Straight: In the Milky Way galaxy, humans are the most technologically adept, powerful and and adaptable.
- Exaggerated:
- Humans Are Cthulhu whose mere appearance can drive an alien to insanity.
- Humans are Sufficiently Advanced Aliens.
- Humans are Physical Gods.
- Downplayed: Humanity Is Advanced and fares better than other species in combat, but they're not going to dominate the universe.
- Justified: Humans Advance Swiftly and are able to conquer all threats with ease once they learn how to defeat them.
- Inverted: Puny Earthlings.
- Subverted: Humans appear to be powerful, but what they can do isn't special compared to the might of other aliens.
- Double Subverted: Until humans evolve their technology and military prowess to become superior.
- Parodied: Humans are the only species to develop the internet and the stuffed crust pizza, elements necessary to propel a species to powerful levels.
- Zig Zagged: The humans are the supreme species of the galaxy, until another race of Sufficiently Advanced Aliens shows up to make humans look like Puny Earthlings, but since Humans Advance Swiftly, they are able to take rise to levels that baffle the aliens, but even then it's an even fight.
- Averted: Humans Are Average.
- Enforced: Most Writers Are Human.
- Lampshaded: "These humans just seem to be better than everyone at everything."
- Invoked: When the Gods finished creating all the plants and animals and aliens in the universe, they finished by creating one species to rule over and own all of them. This species they called Man.
- Exploited: Humans are able to use their superior nature to conquer the universe and rule it with an iron fist....or use it enforce peace and prosperity from harmful threats.
- Defied: The aliens adapt quickly whenever humanity gains an upper hand to ensure that humans are forever below them.
- Discussed: "Humans are the best species in existence! Suck it, dolphins!"
- Conversed: "All things considered, humans are batshit crazy, very good at fighting, even better at adapting our technology, and we don't even know that much about them aside from that. You'd have to be very stupid to try and pick a fight."
- Implied: Aliens are told to stay way from humans out of fear of being easily decimated.
- Deconstructed:
- Humans may be the most powerful species, but then again what does it even mean to be that anyway?
- Humans were the most powerful species, simply because they didn't have competition.
- Reconstructed:
- Humans decide upon a list of criteria and ultimately use that to present their case.
- Humans eventually did have to prove their superiority against enemy species when they rose to challenge humanity.
- Played For Laughs: A single human is able to overrun a galaxy as his hideous appearance alone is enough to end all xeno life.
- Played For Drama:
- The aliens are laughing at the Puny Earthlings for being oh so inferior, until the battle rages where humanity reigns supreme and crushes their tormentors with ease.
- Humans find out the other species aren't as advanced and proceed to do to them what we've done so well with each other - Rape, Pillage, and Burn then try to use the looted resources to conquer one another.
