Basic Trope: A remaster tampers and ruins the original footage.

  • Straight: The remaster of Troperman oversaturates the colors, which makes Troperman's cape look pink instead of red, and makes the soundtrack more distorted.
  • Exaggerated: The remaster has all the above, as well as removing all the grain, which makes Troperman look waxy, and the movie runs seven frames per second faster than usual, creating a sped-up image.
  • Downplayed: It only oversaturated the colors a bit.
  • Justified: The remaster was done using damaged equipment, a damaged print, or both.
  • Inverted: The remaster fixes everything.
  • Averted: There is no remaster.
  • Enforced:
  • Parodied: The remaster literally adds scratches to the print.
  • Subverted: Everyone thinks the remaster will be screwed up, but once they play it, it looks fine...
  • Double Subverted: ...for the first minute or so, but then the audio and visuals go horribly out of sync, the colors go all wonky, and the images themselves go blurry.
  • Zig-Zagged: The audio and visuals go in and out of focus and sync throughout the remastered edition of the film.
  • Lampshaded: "This remaster stinks! What idiot did such a terrible job?"
  • Invoked: A studio executive who hates Troperman calls for it to be remastered and rereleased ... and staffs the project with stupid and disinterested workers.
  • Exploited: Rival studios remaster and rerelease their rival film to Troperman, but do it well to gain a leg up in the Fandom Rivalry.
  • Defied: The studio executive who calls for Troperman to be remastered and rereleased oversees the project like a hawk to make sure it's done properly.
  • Deconstructed: Once word of mouth spreads about how terrible the remastered version is, no one buys the DVD, causing the studio to lose a good chunk of money.
  • Reconstructed: The studio listens and creates a better remaster, and everyone buys that.
