  • Inverted: Princess Cherry is never targeted by the Monster of the Week, in contrast to everyone else in the Five-Man Band.
  • Subverted: Princess Cherry appears to be frequently kidnapped by the Big Bad, but it turns out that this is so they can meet in private and carry out their passionate love affair.
  • Double Subverted: It turns out that Cherry was being brainwashed into this affair, and thus the Big Bad is effectively raping her.

  • Lampshaded:
    • "Why do they always go after me?"
    • "Who programmed me to go after the girl?"
  • Invoked: Cherry is always going out of her way to get captured by the Monster of the Week, either to protect the others, or to provoke the heroes into action.

    • Cherry lets herself to be kidnapped in order to infiltrate the prison from within.
  • Defied: Cherry takes self defense classes, and suddenly, the villains don't want to approach her anymore.
  • Discussed: "Cherry has been kidnapped and being tied up, that's how her life always goes."
  • Conversed: A viewer remarks that the heroes might as well let ditch Cherry, as her only "contribution" to the group is needing a lot of rescues.
  • Deconstructed:
    • Cherry is so sick of being targeted all the time that she grows tired of being good and does a Face–Heel Turn.
    • Cherry becomes so preoccupied with her safety that she leaves the Five-Man Band to go in hiding.
    • Cherry has been targeted so many times to the point the heros consider her no longer worth saving, they even urged the Big Bad to outright kill her.
    • Cherry ends up letting the MotW kill her so she won't be a burden to the group any more.
  • Reconstructed:
  • Played For Laughs:
    • Cherry reacts to her constant kidnappings with dry sarcasm.
Cherry: Yeah... a monster abducting me. Never Heard That One Before.
    • Cherry starts eating lots of garlic and bathing in dirt. If the villains are going to kidnap her, she might as well make it as unpleasant for them as possible.
  • Played For Drama: Cherry angsts about her constant kidnappings: Why do the monsters always target her? Are the heroes truly okay with having to rescue her over and over, or are they actually sick of it and just pretending they're not because they don't want to hurt her feelings? Could she make their lives easier by leaving the Five-Man Band?
  • Played for Drama: Cherry has been a victim of every Investigation cases which the suspect is yet a Big Bad to go after on every six cases of the same victim.
  • Implied: Cherry was thought to be kidnapped every day but she actually wasn't.
