Basic Trope: The Big Guy has an equally big personality and presence.
- Straight:
- Biggs the Fighter is One Head Taller than his friends, loves drinking and partying, and is never too shy to let anybody know about it.
- Biggs is Outrageous!
- Exaggerated:
- Biggs the Vainglorious is a Drunken Master warrior with No Indoor Voice.
- BIGGS IS OUTRAGEOUS!
- Downplayed:
- Biggs is a brawler with a warm nature and a good sense of humor. He's lovably hedonistic, but pretty mellow about it.
- Biggs is outrageous.
- Justified:
- Biggs practices a form of Supernatural Martial Arts where the user gains power the more he feels and the more he expresses himself.
- Because of Biggs' size and physical prowess, there has never been much that has been able to threaten him. As a result, his self-confidence is through the roof.
- Inverted:
- Biggs is both The Quiet One and The Big Guy.
- Boisterous Weakling
- Subverted:
- Despite looking every bit the part, Biggs speaks in a painfully shy whisper.
- Miles Gloriosus
- Double Subverted: ..."HAHAHA I KID YOU! THE NAME'S BIGGS!"
- Parodied: Biggs has an ability to grow size, which also makes his personality even bigger.
- Zig Zagged: Biggs is every bit the loud boisterous type in some episodes but doesn't speak in others. There is a fan theory that he has manic depression.
- Averted: No one character is especially loud, strong, and combat-capable.
- Enforced: "The meathead guy sounds pretty boring. Let's make him loud and entertaining."
- Lampshaded: "I can hear Biggs talking about punching bad guys so he must be somewhere in the five mile radius."
- Invoked: The Hero and his mentor specifically recruit Biggs because he can fight, raise the party's morale, and intimidate their foes.
- Exploited:
- Defied: The Hero puts Biggs in his place on day one, telling him that he will behave properly and use an indoor voice. He does.
- Discussed: "I thought being super brash and loud was what separated you warrior-types from the town guards."
- Conversed: "Big body and bigger voice? Yep, that's him."
- Deconstructed: Biggs's love of drinking turns him into an overweight alcoholic over the years, and the fact he relishes combat causes his friends to regard him as a violent sociopath rather than a big fun guy.
- Reconstructed: Biggs is a highly informal paragon. Without losing one iota of personality, he drinks only in moderation in order to keep in top fighting form, but his gusto for everything inspires others to be their best.
Hey you! This has been fun and all, but let's return to that outrageous Boisterous Bruiser main page!
