The Imperfects, as can be expected for its premise, can be fairly dark at times.

General
- Juan's chupacabra form manages to be both terrifying and badass at the same time.
- The growls he gives are fairly unnerving, as well.
Sarkov's Children
- In one scene, Juan watches a video of "The Terror of Tacoma" which shows himself, in chupacabra form, killing a raccoon, complete with blood splatter on the screen (made worse by the fact that you don't get a full look at his chupacabra form in this scene).
- His reaction when the realisation sinks in doesn't help matters, either.
- The confrontation with Doug in Sarkov's lab can be unnerving, especially when you consider that Doug was acting under the influence of Abbi's pheromones. The fight is quickly ended when Chupacabra!Juan takes out Doug, however.
- Abbi and Tilda walking into Sarkov's lab and seeing Chupacabra!Juan eating Doug before quickly deciding to back out of the room while Juan follows them with blood dripping from his mouth also fairly chilling. Good thing Burke was there to save them, otherwise they may have been eaten before they could get out of there.
- The look Juan gives to Abbi and Tilda before stalking them is pretty unnerving, to say the least.
- Even worse: the camera angle makes it look like he's staring at you.
Doug of the Dead
- At several points of the episode, Burke is shown having nightmares involving her being attacked by a faceless entity (later revealed to be Isabel Finch). Both times this is shown, she wakes up abruptly.
Portland Warehouse Massacre
- The warehouse itself is quite creepy in atmosphere, especially how it's almost devoid of lighting and looks more like the setting of a horror movie than a lab. The fact the three scientists are shown to be fairly sadistic doens't help matters, either.
- Speaking of the scientists: they start off pretending to be nice to the heroes before revealing themselves to be ruthless "Bio-Hackers" who plan on experimenting on the three main characters can easily be Paranoia Fuel for some.
