The series reminds you just how terrifying The Old Testament, and God Himself can be.
- In the episode Creation and the Flood, Lucifer whose hubris ultimately led him to Hell and becoming Satan doesn't initially seem that scary as he's a vaguely defined winged figure of yellow in his introduction. However as he begins to act on his arrogance, he gets more detailed as his colors throb between yellow and red. He then shows a very detailed, hyperrealistic angered face with black sclera looking directly at the camera as the screen briefly flashes a broken, eerie mask. He then tears his yellow robes as he becomes a red clad demonic being with a wizened, warped face and larger, subtly draconic wings as he flies towards God.
- After Eve suggests what could possibly cause any danger, the scenery zooms to Lucifer's location in Hell- a darkened, red-tinted thorny barb filled realm made of subtly eldritch looking constructs while on fire whose exact shapes aren't clearly defined.
- His serpent form is a four-legged reptile, but with a vaguely humanoid face that's distorted to be lizard like with completely black eyes. He also transforms briefly into a red cloaked figure with a human like, cracked mask that can speak during his conversation with Eve. When his serpent form is reduced to smaller, legless form, it's still eerie to look at it.
- The way he acts towards Eve is cordial and friendly compared to his haughty and angered self from earlier, but it has a sinister undertone of manipulation as he casually smashes a flower. He then talks Eve into eating the fruit. All as a way to get back at God in the most petty way possible.
- In the same episode, a closeup of the Tree of the Forbidden Fruit's leaves are covered in functional human like eyes.
- His Leitmotif is operatic with a threatening and dramatic tone, perfectly capturing the darker tone of the episode and Lucifer's true nature.
- This is followed by Eve and Adam going from highly defined stain glass looks to traditional drawing animation as the entirety of Eden becomes a wasteland and predatory animals are now perceived by the pair as horrific animal horrors
- We don't see much of Sodom before it is destroyed, but the Sinister Silhouettes and mocking voices of the Sodomites are enough to put you off taking a holiday there.
- The Ten Plagues in Moses, complete with the screeching noise that is first heard as Pharaoh drinks the blood of the Nile.
- Of course, the worst part is the descent of the Angel of Death, who falls upon Egyptians whether adult or child. All we see of the angel is a horrible prismatic light that descends from the sky. We then go to its perspective, where it roams around Egypt like a prowling animal through the streets and through houses as it kills the first borns.
