The series does an excellent job adapting some of the greatest moments from the Old Testament.
- "Creation and the Flood":
- Noah standing up to and calling out the evil governor.
- God creating the universe looks absolutely gorgeous, further made beautiful by being animated with stained glass.
- The episodes portrayal of Lucifer is memorably terrifying, both when he is in Heaven and when he manipulates Eve with his smooth words.
- Though also a shout out to Michael who gives excellent retorts to Lucifer’s boasts, then with just one flap of his wings blasts Lucifer into Hell.
Michael: You're pride will bring you down to the grave.Lucifer: I cannot die!Michael: You can long to die... And you will.Lucifer: Michael, do not stand in my way.Michael: Down Lucifer... Down! To Hell! - Despite the Devil's scheme working, God has the last laugh and puts Lucifer in his place: when Adam and Eve are scolded by God, we see the Devil smile smugly... Then God speaks to him and Lucifer immediately flinches and skulks away. Lucfier then turns into his cloaked mask form as an attempt to seem intimidating, with his cloak even flaring up like a scared animal. God is unimpressed and, with just a few words, shatters Lucifer's mask and reduces him to the form of a filthy snake.
God: Possessor, shapeshifter, I know you... Hunt, and be hunted. Crawl forever, dragged in dust, breaker of brightness. - Ruth in general, despite her awful situation, she never loses her faith and works as hard as she can to support her family.
- As per usual, David slaying Goliath in "David and Saul" is fittingly epic. In the same episode, there is also David sneaking into Saul's tent and taking his spear, demonstrating to him that if David wanted him dead he could have done it whenever.
- In this version of "Jonah", the titular prophet is given the ability by God to reveal to people their sins. Whenever this happens, his eyes open with flames inside them and with a powerful Scare Chord. With this intimidating power, Jonah leaves everyone in Ninevah, from a petty pickpocket to the arrogant king, gobsmacked and horrified at their lives. This makes the whole city undergo a mass Heel–Face Turn and repent.
