Go To

Being an epic that depicts the gods Hermes and Aphrodite as mortal royalty destined to be together throughout this and all their next lives and at the same time a religious movie by Happy Science, there will be moments that will keep viewers up at night as it devolves into a conflict of good vs. evil according to HS teachings.

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

  • King Minos' sheer presence imposes terror throughout the film as the tyrannical ruler of Crete. He has made a name for himself as a conqueror, taking over all Greek lands and terrorizing their rulers into surrender. Moreover, the vassal state rulers sent prisoners off to Knossos to serve as entertainment or as sacrifices for the Minotaur.
    • The scene where he catches his wife PasiphaĆ« cheating on him after learning she gave birth to the Minotaur. When he tried to kill both of them but couldn't bring himself to do it, he instead declares he'll imprison both of them in an inescapable labyrinth before declaring he will no longer believe in God for all he went through and swearing he'll take over Greece.

  • The sky turning red just as Hermes talked to a mermaid named Delmone, who returns to the ocean for safety as dark waterspouts whirl around the island in a storm. When Hermes tries to figure out what's going on, Pan and Agape inform him that King Minos, whom he vanquished, is behind all this; he became a powerful demon and tormented all people in Hell.
    • When the three fall into Hell following being sucked into one of the waterspouts, the place is depicted as a wretched forest full of screaming withered trees. Not helping is that Pan explains that those that were once men were shut inside those trees before hiding from a demonic lumberjack cutting off a branch, causing the tree to scream even louder.
    • When the three venture into Hell even further, bull-like demons are torturing a bunch of women before cutting to the aforementioned lumberjack throwing the branches into a purple fire, causing it to take the form of a screaming face as men's spirits emerge. Moreover, Pan also explains that while men are burned into that fire, the women are boiled alive in pots and eaten.
    • The real kicker? No one can ever die in the Spirit World. Therefore, the damned will experience the same torture over and over again, and the only way to escape is through repentance and attunement to "the Light".
  • King Minos appears in Hell as a gigantic Minotaur-like demon, killing and devouring the damned women in his path before Hermes confronts him. However, neither his sword nor the Staff of Kelyukaeyon, a sacred artifact, could be a match for Demon King Minos.
    • To make matters worse, Minos' malevolence and desire for revenge is so strong he's not only capable of becoming gigantic, but inflict a shadow curse into the Material World on all Greeks, especially Hermes' wife Aphrodite and their baby son, Eros.
