• Given Pete Davidson just looks how he always does in comparison to the other more creative designs, many joked that he’s playing himself. Like he always does. Additionally, many were quick to say he’d be the first character to die, which turned out to be true.
• "Don’t get too attached" after both James Gunn and Joel Kinnaman said the phrase verbatim. This increased when it became the Tag Line.
• Again, John Cena and the "You can't see me!" jokes arrived. Many have jokingly expressed confusion at the floating helmet.
• John Cena’s description of Peacemaker as a "Douchey Captain America" also caught on with fans.
• "Zack Snyder's SpongeBob SquarePants"^note The shadowy King Shark looks a lot like Patrick Star while tearing a man in half. Also to say nothing about people unfamiliar with Starro comparing him to the aforementioned sea star.
• "Mafalda is part of The Suicide Squad" ^note  Immediately after the movie's release, Spanish and Argentinian viewers on social media quickly took notice of the tiny Mafalda hanging inside a windshield in Milton's truck. They were overjoyed to know that an English language film gave the Mafalda series more exposure to the Western market. Especially knowing series creator Quino passed away in 2020 during the film's production.
• Katana's absence without mention led to many joking that she no longer has Rick Flag's back, referencing Flag's memetic speech from the previous Suicide Squad film. Predictably, the meme became especially popular after Flag's death in this film. The fact that Flag dies via getting stabbed through the heart prompted some to jokingly point out that he never said anything about Katana having his front.
• It's common to find people seeing shades of Malcolm Tucker or the Twelfth Doctor showing up in the Thinker's snarkiness and expositional dialogue, especially considering the man who plays him.
• "He does exactly what I do!" "But better." ^note  Waller introducing Peacemaker to Bloodsport, which leads to this exchange between the latter two. Very little to explain here since it makes for several spoofs - the MCU and DCEU, Star-Lord and Sylvie, Joker and Akechi, the list goes on.
  • From the same scene, a lot of reactions to the reveal of Cena as Peacemaker referenced his "you can't see me" catchphrase/gimmick from his WWE persona.
• "No one likes a show-off." "Unless what they're showing off is dope as fuck." "Fuck! …That's true." ^note  Bloodsport's and Peacemaker's exchange after they have a dick-measuring contest when they rescue Flagg from what they thought were the enemy, but are in fact potential allies. Between the sheer absurdity and John Cena's and Idris Elba's respective deliveries of these lines, it's no surprise that this would catch on pretty quick. Alternatively, you can replace "show-off", "what they're showing off", and "dope as fuck" with other things for maximum profit.
• King Shark's mustache ^explanation In the same vein as Drax being invisible, fans joke about Nanaue's Master of Disguise skills and claim they either didn't recognize him when he put his finger up to his upper lip or claim he's been in other DC films, just in disguise.
• Nanaue learning that "friends aren't food". Also, the reveal of what Nanaue's "new dumb friends" actually are prompted cries of "Oh no! NOT FRIENDS!"
• "You see who that is?? IT'S YOUR MUM!!!" ^explanation Bloodsport claims that Starro the Conqueror is Polka-Dot Man's mother in order to motivate him into attacking. It ended up being a very exploitable Your Mom joke out of context. Though it's probably just as exploitable even with context.
