• As soon as Ron Howard was announced to take over directing duties on the film, many Arrested Development jokes about the movie and its Troubled Production hit the web.
• Likewise, the announcement of Ron Howard being given directing duties led many to use the image of Howard being given sacks of money◊ from The Simpsons episode "When You Dish Upon a Star".
• Han's final line in the trailer, "I thought we were in trouble there for a second, but everything's fine. We're fine," has been getting traction, often as a reaction to someone almost caught in an embarrassing situation. It certainly is seeing some meta-applicability to the film itself.
• Since many YouTube commenters, when the first Rogue One trailer was released (as it was the first new film following The Force Awakens), infamously asked if Rogue One was the sequel to TFA, many people have posted similar jokes about this film, asking why the cast of The Last Jedi are nowhere to be seen, why the Falcon so looks different, why Han and Chewie look younger or why Han is "still alive."
• The shiny white halls of the Falcon briefly glimpsed in the trailer have drawn some notice, such as comparing them to the more familiar grimy halls with a caption of Lando asking "What have you done to my ship?" (Glover's shocked face from the trailer as a reaction optional).
• After the infamous climax of Rogue One, jokes about most or all of this movie's characters dying horribly have become very popular.
• "Are we blind◊!? DEPLOY THE HARRISON!" ^Explanation Some fans jokingly said this after seeing the trailer because Han will not be portrayed by Harrison Ford for understandable reason.
• "I hope Chewie survives!" ^Explanation The second trailer ended on a shot of Chewbacca in a dramatic Literal Cliffhanger. Given the fact that he obviously can't die in this movie, some fans found this extremely funny.
• "Big shot gangster putting together a crew!" ^Explanation A meme revolving around a particularly overused line from Beckett in the trailers.
• Han giving a Badass Fingersnap while facing down Enfys has led to a lot of jokes involving Thanos and Infinity War's now-infamous Downer Ending.
  • In the same vein: "Did you boycott Solo?" "What did it cost?" "Everything..."^Explanation The original plans for the movies was to release one of the main trilogy movies and then a tie in movie the next year follow by a main trilogy movie. A lot of people wanted a Kenobi movie first which played a part in the boycott as well as TLJ's divisive reception. With the poor reception of Solo, the Kenobi tie in was put on the back burner causing a lot of fans to ask What Have I Done? The image used for this is the scene where Thanos talks to a vision of a young Gamora after he sacrifices her for the Soul stone.
• It's become common to makes jokes about Han's dance number from Kinect Star Wars. It surprisingly works when paired up with the teaser.
• "ENFYS NEST SOLO MOVIE"^Explanation After the film's release, Enfys Nest's massive popularity with the fans led to a number of them enthusiastically requesting that she should get her own anthology film.
