The series has a large amount of Once per Episode gags and Catch Phrases with at least one for every main character, which are varied, parodied and subverted in every way the writers can come up with, leading to a rich memetic potential.
- "Hey Ferb, I know what we're gonna do today!" ExplanationStage One: Phineas gets inspiration for today's scheme, either from something he sees or hears about, or his thought processes. Also used in response to a disturbing or unsettling tidbit of information, with the implication being that the poster is setting off to do that exact thing.
- "Hey, where's Perry?" ExplanationStage Two: Perry The Platypus drops his pet disguise, dons his fedora and goes to his secret lair to get his Doofenshmirtz-thwarting mission.
- "MOM! Phineas and Ferb are creating memes!" ExplanationStage Three: Candace tries to bust her brothers by getting their mother to see what they're doing. This never, ever succeeds.
- This got taken to a new level when Vincent Martella (Phineas' voice actor) appeared in The Walking Dead, with comments like "MOM! Phineas turned into a zombie!" being common.
- What-cha dooin'? ExplanationIsabella's Catchphrase, usually said to Phineas. She gets annoyed when other people borrow it, and can sense it being used across town, though only when it is said to Phineas.
- "Aren't you a little too young to make a meme? "Yes, yes we are." ExplanationPhineas's blatant non-explanation whenever someone questions a small child ordering in a construction crew, or something equally ambitious.
- A sub-meme of this would be "Aren't you a little old to be watching Phineas and Ferb?", when older fans reveal they watch the series. note And no, no we are not.
- "Ah, Perry the Platypus! What an un(adjective) surprise! And by un(adjective) I mean COMPLETELY (ADJECTIVE)!" ExplanationDr. Doofenshmirtz's Catchphrase when Agent P. enters Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated, though in one case he actually did mean un(adjective) claiming it was his week off.
- "CURSE YOU, PERRY THE PLATYPUS!" ExplanationDr. Doofenshmirtz's Catchphrase when his Evil Plan is ruined by Perry The Platypus, usually while being Hoist by His Own Petard.
- A platypus?...(gasps) PERRY THE PLATYPUS?!Explanation Doofenshmirtz can't recognize Perry without his signature hat. Fans have noticed and applied the catchphrase to other things as well, such as how pro-skateboarder Tony Hawk is unrecognizable without his board.
- He's a platypus. He doesn't do much. ExplanationPunch-line for Perry's action-packed B-plot, as Phineas and Ferb believe he's just a low-maintenance pet.
- He's a semi-aquatic, egg-laying mammal of action! (do bi do bi do ba, do bi do bi do ba
) ExplanationPerry's occasional Theme Tune. - "Platypuses are the only mammals to lay eggs."ExplanationFerb's only line in the pilot episode. Fans began pointing out that echidnas are also mammals that lay eggs, which becan crossing over to memes involving Knuckles the Echidna.
- The TROPE-INATOR! ExplanationNearly all of Doofenshmirtz's inventions follow the Thing-O-Matic scheme of "Something-Absurdly-Specific-inator"
- Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated! ExplanationAs a Card-Carrying Villain, Doof has owns an evil company, and has his own jingle to promote his villainy.
- "Why do my nostrils whisper to meee?" Explanation A Big-Lipped Alligator Moment in the middle of the "Ballad of Badbeard" where it cuts to Candace, high out of her mind on moss, singing the above, and then the song resumes.
- The enemy of platypus is man! ExplanationA Green Aesop flies over Doof's Literal-Minded head, so he builds a giant robot man to defeat Perry The Platypus.
- "There are Squirrels in My Pants!" ExplanationCandace ends up with squirrels in her pants in "Comet Kermillian", but a nearby group of street performers thinks it's a euphemism for the urge to dance and her attempts to shake them out are her doing just that.
- This made a comeback in 2020, thanks to the the song spelling out S.I.M.P. in its refrain and the "simp" meme skyrocketing in popularity.
- "My Name is Doof and You'll Do What I Say—WOOP WOOP!" ExplanationIn "Phineas and Ferb's Musical Cliptastic Showdown", Doof attempts to take over THE ENTIRE TRI-STATE AREA! again, with a hypnotic tune.
- (snaps fingers) "Okay!" ExplanationCharacter Tic of Bob the lifeguard in "The Lake Nose Monster". Turns out he doesn't even know he does it.
- Hooray for Internet Memes being a metaphor for... oh wait, I think we're supposed to take that literally. ExplanationCandace becomes Danville's mayor for a day in "She's The Mayor", but can't stop people from believing that everything she says is some kind of metaphor, even her "busting" obsession. The line parodies this at the end.
- ...oh, there you are, Perry! ExplanationPerry always returns after his mission and boys' scheme are both complete, greeted this way by an oblivious Phineas.
- NANG NANG NANG NANG ExplanationThe cry of the Klimpaloon, an anthropomorphic old-timey bathing suit that lives in the Himalayas from "Summer Belongs to You".
- "GET ON THE TRIKE!!" ExplanationUsually unassailably cheerful and optimistic, near the end of "Summer Belongs To You!" Phineas (having just recovered from a 10-Minute Retirement) snaps this line at Candace.
- "Voltaire, Buford? Really?" ExplanationGenerally thuggish Buford displays Hidden Depths in "Summer Belongs To You"
- "I don't want your pamphlet!" ExplanationIn Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension, when Phineas finds out that Perry is a secret agent, The Voiceless pet tries to explain through the pamphlet called "So You've Just Discovered Your Pet is a Secret Agent." It doesn't work.
- "STATION... STATION... COOKIE... STATION..." "SPACE... SPACE... COOKIE... SPACE..." ExplanationIn "We Call it Maze", Doof plays with the echo in his space station, but it doesn't always come back right.
- Fossils, dun dun dun! ExplanationIn "It's About Time", Phineas and Ferb's dad Lawrence is easily amused by the dramatic sting that plays at the end of a audio tour tape he gets at the natural history museum.
- Eyeless Phineas ExplanationIn the episode "Excaliferb", there is a brief animation error that caused Phineas to appear to be missing his eyes. After this was noticed and the image was captured, fanart of him blind without eyes began to appear.
- "Isabella: Dirty Double Crosser." ExplanationIn "Phineas and Ferb and the Temple of Juatchadoon", Ohio Flynn (a 1914 Expy of Phineas) calls Isabella's 1914 Expy (also called Isabella) a "dirty double crosser" when she betrays them. She replies with a card saying said meme.
- Phineas doesn't like zucchini. ExplanationIn the episode "Doofapus", Phineas mentions that he doesn't like zucchini. This became memetic due to the fact that so far it's the only thing that Phineas has specifically stated he doesn't like.
- Isabella with eyebrows. ExplanationPeople always notice when Isabella has visible eyebrows, as for most episodes in the first three seasons they aren't visible but in several fourth season episodes she appears with visible eyebrows.
- The episode "Act Your Age". ExplanationPeople working on the show kept on mentioning this episode, and it has gotten a lot of praise, but all fans are getting excited over was the mention that it would have a "Phinabella song" and a scene that would make said shippers "burst a blood vessel". The episode aired early in Russia and pretty much broke the fandom, and the episode remains divisive to this day.
- "MOM HOLY FUCK!!" ExplanationA comic parodying the show featured Candace bursting through a door and screaming said line. This part of the comic became a popular reaction image and saying.
- "Swampy eats bugs." ExplanationDan Povenmire posted an image on Twitter where he continuously wrote down the aformentioned sentence, and despite the show ending it spread across the fanbase like wildfire.
- Ferbs. ExplanationDan Povenmire revealed to fans that Vanessa calling Ferb "Ferbs" in "Act Your Age" was not just an affectionate nickname but what Ferb is actually short for. Fans naturally went wild at the idea of Ferb's full name containing a mere extra letter than what was known.
- Ain't got Rhythm. ExplanationThis song has joined the Word Replacement craze on YouTube in the same vein as We Are Number One.
- Discovering Something That Doesn’t Exist ExplanationThis quote became popular from the theme song and it also made images of replacing the animal.
- Phineas Front View. ExplanationImages of Phineas in front views have become popular on the internet, due to their amusingly Off-Model appearance. There's even a Twitter account recording every instance of it (plus bonus images) — so far, there are 1,000+ images of front-facing Phineas up until "Phineas and Ferb Interrupted/A Real Boy".
- "Not yet, Ferb." ExplanationIn "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together!" when bassist Bobbi Fabulous initially refuses to rejoin the band, Phineas says this line to Ferb, who's wearing a knight's helmet and holding a medieval mace. Many viewers were tickled by the implication that clubbing Bobbi with a mace was plan B if Phineas's persuasion failed. On the internet, this is often used as a reaction image to news of a hated (and often very old) public figure being hospitalized or otherwise close to death, most notably Queen Elizabeth in 2022.
- "You're the one who sets the bars. Your hairdo piece is a fashion star."ExplanationA mutation of a line from "Fabulous" (the original line being, "You're the one who sets the bar / The Hairdo King, the Fashion Czar").
- Phineas sings Green Day ExplanationFans have discovered that if they raise the pitch of any Green Day's songs (around two semitones), Billie Joe Armstrong's voice will sound eerily similar to Phineas' voice pitch. Best known example is 21 Guns, to the point of a fan creating a short parody animation of it And yes, it's Dan Povenmire as well as Vincent Martella approved.
- "If I Had a Nickel... for every time [unlikely event that has recently occurred], I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?" ExplanationFrom Across the 2nd Dimension, where Doofenshmirtz ponders how weird it is that he's been doomed by a puppet twice. The quote works great for any highly unlikely and/or incredibly specific event that happens twice in short succession.
- I worry about you sometimes, Candace.ExplanationA format taken from the pilot episode, "Rollercoaster!", with Candace Laughing Mad next to Linda replaced by whatever disturbing factoid the memer wishes to share, followed by Linda's response.
- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a meme popped up parodying the opening line of the theme song: "104 days of self-isolation" (or coronafication). Naturally, some people started to make full lyric videos of it.
- As an extension, having Candace show all of 2020's disasters to her mom so it goes away.
- "There's a platypus controlling me."ExplanationPeople have noticed that the song "There's a Platypus Controlling me" from the episode Brain Drain syncs up well with other songs, giving birth to a YouTube fad where the song is overlaid onto the instrumental versions of other songs (Though occasionally it has to be sped up to fit).
- "Have you seen the other Candace!?"ExplanationThe scene in 'Split Personality' where the Busting Candace asks Phineas and Ferb where the Jeremy obsessed Candace went, and responds to their answer with a bizarre expression while squealing like a pig. The scene has seen a resurgence in 2021 with videos on Youtube replacing the squealing with other noises or music.
- "Look at you! You're just a bottom!"ExplanationA line said by Doofenshmirtz when he accidentally turns the top half of Perry's body invisible in "Don't Even Blink". Spreads all over the internet thanks to the Accidental Innuendo coming from the other meaning of the word "bottom".
- "She's sixteen!"ExplanationA scene from "Vanessasary Roughness" where a biker pulls up next to Doofenshmirtz and Vanessa, who are riding a moped, and says "Hey, sweetheart, how would you like to take a ride on a real bike?" Doofenshmirtz turns to the biker, proclaims "She's sixteen!" and fires the Away-Inator on his helmet at him, causing the biker to vanish. The scene is often edited to either turn the biker into something or a scream is added (usually ''Skyviewray's'') to imply Doof killed him. The meme is also used to discourage NSFW art of fictional characters who are underage.
- Eggs and bacon, oh yeah! ExplanationIn "Mom's Birthday", Candace sings "Eggs and bacon, oh yeah!" while carrying breakfast for Linda. Despite being just a couple seconds long, the song got its own article in the Phineas and Ferb wiki. This has resulted in fans joking about what a great and memorable song it is, and when talking about the best Phineas and Ferb songs, someone will often jokingly answer with Eggs and Bacon.
- Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz-Inator ExplantionAn image macro similar to the Drake and Tuxedo Pooh reaction memes. The top half shows Doof rejecting something, while the second half shows him liking that thing with "-inator" attached to it i.e. "Term/Terminator" or "lightsaber/Youngling kill-inator".
- Doofenshmirtz with the Infinity Gauntlet ExplanationA popular image on message boards taking a screenshot of Doof with a wooden glove and superimposing the actual Infinity Gauntlet over it, usually with some quote. One version earned Approval of God from Dan Povenmire.
- "I Gave Up" ExplanationThe ending to the song "Give Up" has seen wider usage on TikTok regarding people instantly giving up on hard tasks or forgetting something important seconds before it's needed.
- Buff Ferb/Viva Cristo Rey ExplanationA frame from the episode "No More Bunny Business" shows Ferb flexing his muscles and becoming temporarily buff as a result of the bodybuilding course the duo mistakenly got by mail last summer. It went especially memetic in Latin American countries, where similar pics of comically buff cartoon characters are accompanied by the caption "Viva Cristo Rey" ("Long live Christ the King" in Spanish).
