.The series follows Yuuya Kamigasaki, an Ordinary High-School Student who is going about his daily life until he is approached by a girl named Angelia Eight Granshia, a princess from another world who claims that Yuuya is a hero greatly desired to combat a demon army back in her world. The catch however, is that Yuuya cannot go there as he is. He must be killed so his spirit can reincarnate in Angelia’s world to be the hero her kingdom desires.
Before anything else happens, Yuuya is also approached by Lucielle Von Darkbreed, the daughter of the Demon King. She seeks to protect Yuuya from Angelia’s assassination attempts as she does not want to involve other worlds in the war between the human and demon kingdoms. However, Angelia is determined to reincarnate Yuuya and will not give up on her mission without a fight.
Tropes:
- The Ace: Lucielle’s officers are all the most superior members of their species, as all of them have “Ace” coming after their names (Goblin Ace, Skeleton Ace, etc.). They definitely show how they earned their titles.
- Barehanded Blade Block: When Yuuya is revived by Konami with her new Dark Priest powers, he grips Angelia's sword with his hand to stop her from attacking Lucielle.
- Determinator: Angelia is hellbent on fulfilling her mission no matter the cost and faces any problem thrown at her with a confident smile on her face. She eventually reveals that she must do so within a specific time period, or else she will die. Yuuya declares that he doesn’t want anyone to die and decides to find a way to save Angelia from her fate.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Goblin Ace sacrifices his life to save Yuuya from being run over by a truck driven by Angelia.
- Look Both Ways: Invoked by Angelia, who tries to run Yuuya over with a truck as one of her many attempts at reincarnating him. Unfortunately, Goblin Ace takes the hit instead.
- Kleptomaniac Hero: The first thing Yuuya does after waking up in Lucielle's bedroom is search through her lingerie drawer. Lucielle believes this is normal behavior for "legendary heroes".
- Reincarnate in Another World: What Angelia wants to do to Yuuya so he will become her world’s strongest champion.
