The story follows a young girl named Gabby Gomez, who has an unfortunate fixation with chewing and blowing bubble gum at all times. This causes problems with her family, especially with her father being a dentist. It gets to the point that one day, her mother bans Gabby from gum entirely. When Gabby can't resist chewing her last piece of gum despite her mother's warnings, an electrical accident and a popped bubble suddenly gives her amazing elastic superpowers, creating the heroine known as Gum Girl. Now Gabby must learn how to fight crime while trying to keep her identity a secret from her parents.
