The Carnivorous Lamb (L'Agneau carnivore) is a coming of age novel, set 1950s in Franco's Spain, written in 1975 by Agustin Gomez-Arcos in France.
The Carnivorous Lamb provides examples of the following tropes:
- Abusive Parents - Matilda and Carlos are neglecting at best
- Big Fancy House - family's houses, both in city and in country, extremely similar to each other
- Brother–Sister Incest - between main character and his older brother Antonio
- Coming Of Age Queer Romance - between brothers, but still
- Hidden Depths - Mother at first seems heartless, but she seems to genuinely love her husband and Clara
- The Nameless - subverted, we don't get main character's name, Ignacio, until last chapter
- Parental Favoritism - Mother doesn't particularly hide her preference of Antonio
- Sadist Teacher - don Pepe his belief in spreading knowledge through terror and his rode
