Star Wars: Tales of Light and Life is an anthology of young-adult short stories that are set throughout all three phases of The High Republic multimedia project. Most of the stories are set after Phase I or II and provide closure on certain character's stories while setting up for Phase III of the project. It was released on September 5, 2023.

The stories within the collection are:

  • "The Queen's Bloom" by Zoraida Córdova - set years before Phase II, a young Axel Greylark finds his day of skipping classes unexpectedly complicated by a romantic rival, his parent's presence, and a robbery gone wrong.
  • "A Closed Fist Has No Claws" by Tessa Gratton - set shortly after Phase II, Marda Ro travels the galaxy seeking new purpose aboard the Gaze Electric, learning more about herself and the Evereni as she gathers followers for a new organization.
  • "Shield of the Jedi" by George Mann - set three years after Phase II, Jedi Padawan Rooper Nitani faces her Trial of Knighthood on Batuu.
  • "The Lonely Traveler is Home" by Daniel José Older - set during the events of Phase I, Ram Jomaram struggles to find his place aboard the Starlight Beacon.
  • "After the Fall" by Claudia Gray - set during the year gap between Phase I and III, Affie Hollow and her crew help with recovery efforts on Eiram while pondering how to navigate the changes occurring on the galactic frontier.
  • "The Force Provides" by Justina Ireland - taking place between Phase I and III, Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh becomes a Jedi Wayseeker and wanders the frontier as she grapples with her losses during the Fall of Starlight Beacon.
  • "All Jedi Walk Their Own Path" by Charles Soule - taking place in the year between Phase I and III, Bell Zettifar continues looking for Burryaga on Eiram after most of his fellow Jedi have already departed.
  • "Light in the Darkness" by Cavan Scott - taking place shortly before Phase III, the world of Ena is occupied by the Hutts, who seek to expand while the Republic and Jedi are busy dealing with the Nihil.
  • "The Call of Coruscant" by Lydia Kang - set shortly after Phase I, Jedi Master Mirro Lox and his Padawan Amadeo Azzazzo are recalled to Coruscant alongside all other Jedi following the destruction of Starlight. As Mirro copes with the loss of so many Jedi, Amadeo explores Coruscant for the first time as an adult and ponders his future with the Jedi Order.
  • "Rogue Element" by Alyssa Wong - exclusive to the Barnes and Noble print edition, it is set shortly after Midnight Horizon and follows Crash and her team as they seek to disrupt Nihil activity on Corellia and find an unexpected ally.

Tropes in this anthology include:

  • Earthquakes Cause Fissures: The groundquakes on Mikkia caused by the nearby destructive mining operation cause massive fissures to open up under a town which kill several civilians who fall into them.
