Separation Two is the rewritten sequel novel to Exodus UK by Richard Rohmer, a Canadian author who has extensive experience in the energy sector and applied that knowledge to his books of the 1970s and 1980s.

This book contains examples of:

  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Same as in Separation but with some added twists caused by Rohmer including an "Alberta and British Columbia separation arc" which centers around Arthur Frame, a Corrupt Corporate Executive extremely displeased with what he sees as Prime Minister Roussel's acquiescence to the Quebecois.
  • Expy: The Prime Minister of the UK, Jeremy Sands, is clearly intended to be reminiscent of Harold Wilson. Similarly, Marion Thrasher for Margaret Thatcher. In Canada, Joseph Roussel is somewhat reminiscent of Pierre Elliott Trudeau.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Rohmer's books incorporate this device at times. In this book, in addition to the assassination noted in the original novel, Arthur Frame becomes the victim of his own assassin when, for a split second, he moves into gunshot range just as the man pulls the trigger.
