The Goosebumps Series 2000 book where revenge goes very wrong.

Wade Brill is constantly tormented by her brother Micah. As a result, revenge is always on her mind. One day, she finds an ad for a company called Revenge R Us. Upon visiting it, she meets a witch named Iris who claims she can help get her revenge. However, soon Wade's desire for revenge leads to even more trouble.

This book provides examples of:

  • Adults Are Useless: When told about Micah's antics, Wade's mother just says he's "funny", and her dad writes off Micah running over her bike as an accident and blames Wade for leaving it in the driveway. Of course, whenever Wade does something to Micah, her parents, again, give her a hard time.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Wade gets revenge, but at the cost of being turned into a frog along with Micah.
  • Big Brother Bully: Micah may be the most infamous example in the series. He is always picking on her, ranging from reading her diary out loud to others, to even attempting to de-pants her in front of her friends.
  • Covers Always Lie: The cover implies that the bird, Maggie, is evil. Nope, she is simply a tool to help grant the wishes.
    • It also features Maggie holding a newspaper. In the book the ad for Revenge R Us is found in a magazine.
  • Familiar: Maggie the crow for Iris, who requires her to be able to cast her revenge spells.
  • Darker and Edgier: This is perhaps the only Goosebumps book to feature a protagonist being sexually abused by an older sibling, first by Micah trying to rip Wade's pants off in front of her friends followed by him taking photos of her asleep in her underwear to use as blackmail.
  • Forced Transformation: Wade gets turned into a frog, along with her brother Micah.
  • Foreshadowing: When Wade wants to return to Revenge R Us, she can't find the orginal magazine ad she used to find the place to begin with. Because as it turns out, Micah went snooping and took the ad, and went to the place for his own revenge.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Wade, a normally male name, for the female protagonist.
  • Humiliation Conga: The protagonist Wade has a Jerkass brother who basically lives to make her life hell, from deliberately driving by and splashing her with water and mud to reading her diary on the public pool loudspeaker. She goes to the eponymous business to get her revenge on him, and the witch leading the business has all of her revenge spells on Wade's brother somehow transfer to Wade. Her third revenge spell erases him entirely, and after she begins executing a plan to get him back, she finds Micah who explains that he has Out-Gambitted her and the entire book was his revenge plot on her. At least in the end, he gets turned into a frog... alongside her.
  • Karma Houdini: Not for a lack of trying on Wade's part, but Iris gets away with scamming Wade on Micah's orders and even gets the last laugh when she reveals at the last minute that Maggie's magic can only be used three times a day.
  • Magic A Is Magic A: Apparently, the magical raven has an arbitrary rule attached: if you use it to cast three curses in one day, the fourth one affects you as well as your target.
  • Mythology Gag: The name of the house that Iris' sister supposedly lives in is called The Dead House.
  • Pants-Pulling Prank: Micah tries to do this to Wade in front of her friends, by jumping on her and trying to rip her pants off so everyone can see her underwear.
  • "Ray of Hope" Ending: The book ends with Wade turned into a frog, but Carl witnesses the whole thing and can eventually try to ask/pay Iris to turn her back to normal (or steal her crow and use it to turn Wade back to normal).
  • Revenge: The whole book is about Wade trying to get even with her brother for all the misery he deliberately brings to her.
  • The Sociopath: Micah, Wade's teenage brother, is basically a teenage male version of Tara Webster, existing solely to make his little sister's life a living hell just because he feels like it.
  • Spoofs "R" Us: The titular company Wade Brill goes to get revenge.
  • Teens Are Monsters: Micah is five years older than Wade at age seventeen and is a major Jerkass to her.
  • Three Wishes: Wade ends up getting three wishes. Sort of, she just gets the one at first but comes back for re-dos.
