Sapnap
is an American
Minecraft youtuber. He often does collabs with
Dream and
GeorgeNotFound (frequently starring on the former's channel as one of the four hunters in the famous "Minecraft Manhunt" series) and with these two he shares a channel called Dream Team. He was also a member of the
Dream SMP.
Tropes used in Sapnap's Videos:
- Animal Motifs: Pandas. Sapnap's skin is loosely base off the color of pandas, and his original IGN was PandasCanPvP. The name change came from Dream recommending to switch the word "pandas" to be backwards, making "Sadnap". Since that name was taken, it was changed to Sapnap, leading to his current in game name.
- Bait-and-Switch: Minecraft, But its raining Cats and Dogs... starts off sounding like it's a typical Minecraft Let's Play before cats and dogs suddenly start falling from the sky.
- Big "NO!": Lets one out in Minecraft, But Our Damage Is Shared... when he falls off the nether fortress into lava, killing both him and Dream.
- Big "WHAT?!": Sapnap lets one out at the end of "Minecraft, But its raining Cats and Dogs...".
- Colorblind Confusion: Invoked in Minecraft, But We Are All Colorblind..., where Dream and Sapnap use a plugin to simulate George's protanomaly on their own screens, so they can explore what Minecraft is like for the latter.
- Downer Ending: Minecraft, But A Raid Starts Every Minute... ends this way, when the vindicators flood into the tunnel that the Dream Team was digging as a desperate escape plan, and since the team had a bed in that same tunnel, it traps them in an endless loop of respawning and dying.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Sapnap's first video is a joke video that's only 30 seconds long, but he later settles into doing challenge videos with friends instead.
- Elemental Motifs: Heavily associated with fire, reflecting his Hot-Blooded nature and also the symbol found on his in-game shirt and channel banner.
- Every Man Has His Price: During "Minecraft, But When I Take Damage, I Get Shocked...", Sapnap's friends were annoyed at him for using a shield to No-Sell the damage at first. Eventually, Sapnap promises them not to use a shield if he got 1000 gifted subs... and Dream immediately complies.
- Hot-Blooded: Often seen as this throughout his Minecraft appearances, being hot-headed and stubborn.
- Large Ham: Being a member of the Dream Team, this is to be expected.
- Martial Arts Headband: Sapnap wears one around his head.
