Ho Yay / Heaven Official’s Blessing: Tian Guan Ci Fu

Go To

For immortal beings that have lived over hundred's of years, it's not hard to imagine why they would be so close to others.

  • Mu Qing and Feng Xin: They have fought side by side for over eight hundred years, and despite how much they throw barbs and insults at each other they will come together to protect Xie Lian. A lot of their interactions could be read as incredibly similar to a married couple.
  • Mu Qing's jealousy towards Xie Lian can be read in a romantic light, as in the past he looked a little pleased when Xie Lian complimented his skills with a sword and he later admits in an almost Tsundere-like manner that he always wanted to be friend with Xie Lian.
  • Quan Yizhen and Yin Yu: Quan Yizhen's utter trust and devotion to Yin Yu since Yin Yu looked after him when he was younger and when they both ascended to heaven. Despite the other nearly killing him out of sheer anger with the Immortal Brocade when Quan Yizhen meets the former again, he beams brightly when he takes off Yin Yu's mask and chases the other asking if he recognizes him. He nearly goes on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge after Yin Yu is killed by Jun Wu and is only stopped by Xie Lian grabbing onto him. As Quan Yizhen continues to stuff Xie Lian's donation box with gold bars at the end of the story, Hua Cheng tells him to stop or he won't inform him on how to reform a spirit. It's only after he hears this does Quan Yizhen finally stop.
  • Shi Qingxuan and Ming Yi (aka He Xuan): Shi Qingxuan and Ming Yi are almost never seen without the other close by. When Ming Yi complains that Shi Qingxuan could ask any other god to come along with him on missions or just to hang out, Shi Qingxuan cheerfully says that he likes Ming Yi the most. Although He Xuan was using Shi Qingxuan in order to get close to Shi Wudu and exact his revenge, in the end he can't bring himself to kill Shi Qingxuan even after he tears off Shi Wudu's head. After killing Shi Wudu he takes Shi Qingxuan away and simply deposits them into a nearby city before leaving him. He also repaired Shi Qingxuan's fan, which should have been very difficult given it was his spiritual device.
  • Pei Ming and Rong Guang came off as Heterosexual Life-Partners when they were mortal as they even named Pei Ming's sword using both of their names to form Ming Guang. Rong Guang also became obsessed with making Pei Ming king where he and the other soldiers tried to set up a situation hoping Pei Ming wouldn't refuse the crown. His obsession with making Pei Ming king almost seemed to parallel Xuan Ji's desire to have Pei Ming love only her as he's the reason they both became ghosts. It's also fairly telling these two were pitted together over Pei Ming by Jun Wu when he offers for Pei Ming to either stay loyal or fight his two greatest enemies.
  • Jun Wu and Guoshi: the latter was once a friend and loyal servant to Jun Wu until the fall of the Wuyoung Kingdom where Jun Wu ended up sacrificing three of their friends in order to appease the Kiln. Guoshi stayed by his side until he found out his dead friends possessed Jun Wu as the Human Face Disease and left. He then spent the next few centuries avoiding Jun Wu and trying to make sure Xie Lian doesn't fall the same way he did. At the end when Jun Wu is impaled to a rock by Fang Xin, Guoshi sits by his side to comfort him and promises he won't leave his side this time.
