• In the first chapter of the remake, Yoriko finds out of her transformation into a half-ghoul. When Touka guessed right on what she has become, she falls into her knees and started crying with tears on her eyes, believing Touka will rat her out to the CCG. Touka reassures her that's not going to happen, and what does she do to prove their friendship? By revealing to her of being a ghoul. They hugged together afterwards.
  Yoriko: I made you eat my food. It hurt you, but you still did it.
  Touka: Because I love you. You're my best friend, Yoriko, and I will forever and always love you as such. [hugs Yoriko]
  Yoriko: Oh, Touka... [hugs Touka in return]
