Warning: Spoilers Off applies to this page. Proceed at your own risk.

  • Venom making breakfast for him and Eddie, even if it looks like you'd puke from just tasting it. Also Fridge Heartwarming considering that fire is harmful to symbiotes, but after braving it once at the end of the first movie, Venom has grown used to it enough to attempt cooking.
    • It gets even better when you see why Venom is making breakfast; it's his way of trying to cheer Eddie up after Anne told them that she and Dan are engaged. It doesn't help much, but it's the thought that counts.
  • When Eddie walks in Mrs. Chen's store, Venom stops a magazine from falling with his tendril; said magazine had a picture of Stan Lee on it.
    • Venom even says hello in Mandarin which shows how much he cares to get to know her.
    • Later, Mrs. Chen temporarily hosts Venom, and is implied to be doing so completely willingly. She's also cold to Anne solely because she hurt Eddie, which, while misguided, shows she does consider Eddie a friend.
  • Venom is surprisingly understanding when Eddie starts throwing insults at him after the aforementioned revelation.
Venom: Eddie, I apologize that I can't mend the heart. Emotional pain hits much harder and it lasts longer. You just need to pull up your big boy pants and take it.
Eddie: Well that's easy for you to say.
    Venom: Why?
Eddie: Because I'm a real boy, and you're just an amoeba.
Venom: [beat] I will only take that because we are hurting right now. Don't worry, buddy, I will get you through this!
    • Venom says "we are hurting". He's just as heartbroken as Eddie is.
  • A bit of Hypocritical Heartwarming; Venom is rather aggressive towards Eddie throughout the film, but the scene where Eddie is interviewing Cletus shows how much the symbiote truly cares about their host. The moment Cletus brings up Eddie's Dark and Troubled Past, Venom gets pissed and outright attacks him.
Cletus: You are a cancer to everyone who ever loved you, Eddie. Deceived your trusting fiancée... and no wonder Daddy could never look at you again after you killed his wife, your mother, just by being born!
Venom: YOU SON OF A BITCH!
  • Eddie and Venom keep two pet chickens, Sonny and Cher. In an awesome but heartwarming twist, Eddie says Venom can eat the two, but Venom gives an absolute veto to doing so.
    • Worth noting that the reason for the veto is that Sonny and Cher just are "best friends", meaning that Venom refused to eat one and leave the other alone.
    • During his fight with Eddie, Venom prepares to throws the former's expensive $2,000 television out the window but pauses momentarily when Eddie grabs Sonny.
  • Venom suggests eating some inmates at a maximum security prison, since they're "bad guys" anyway. Eddie rejects this out of hand, because some of them could be innocent for all they know, having been framed or forced to give false confessions or something, and that's not a risk he's willing to take. He clearly takes his Never Hurt an Innocent policy very seriously. He also points out some of them might be in on plea bargains or other deals, meaning while they're "bad guys," they're not bad guys deserving of being eaten.
  • Venom going to the rave and having a genuinely nice time, being appreciated by the partygoers, and giving an impromptu speech about acceptance, which is well-received despite getting odd looks once he starts mentioning Aliens. Veers into Fridge Horror once you think about all the people he had to possess to be there.
  • Cletus Kasady, brutal murderer to the world, displays tenderness and love to Frances Barrison/Shriek, calling her his angel and treating her with care (freeing her from her cell, dancing with her, etc).
    • Cletus asks Eddie to send a message out to his "fans" in return for his life story. The message turns out to be part of a poem he shared with Frances about a cathedral they wanted to get married in, telling her he never stopped thinking of her after more than twenty years. For her part, Frances is still devoted to him as well, checking the newspapers she gets for news on his trial and execution, and being completely devastated when he's sentenced to death.
    • The car Cletus steals is later revealed to be her dream car.
      Cletus: Yeah, I remembered!
    • The first thing he does after breaking out of prison and getting clothes and a car is rescue Frances, even preparing her before "introducing" Carnage so she doesn't freak out.
    • Upon seeing Carnage for the first time, Frances isn't shocked or frightened, both of which would've been fully justified reactions. Instead, she loves it.
      Frances: That is so hot!
    • After more than two decades of separation, the first thing they want to do with their freedom is get married.
  • By the end, both Eddie and Venom eventually accept Dan as a suitable fiancé for Anne. Venom even tells Dan to take care of himself, showing he's come around and realized the doc's a good guy, and Anne will be happy with him.
  • The fact that Venom was fully ready and willing to leave and go on the run without Eddie, since the cops were only looking for him... and the fact that Eddie refuses to let him do that, and gives up his normal life to stay with him. Romantic or platonic, that's love.
  • The entire beach scene.
Venom: Osho says, "When you love someone, you accept the whole person, with all of their defects".
    Eddie: "Defects"?
    Venom: Nobody is perfect!
Eddie: Just go back, go back a minute. You telling me—? You just said... that you love me.
    Venom: Ummm...
    Eddie: [grinning] You did!
    • Venom's positively Adorkable reaction to Eddie finally agreeing and meaning it to become a superhero together.
      Venom: Where will we go?
      Eddie: I don't know. …Anywhere that needs a Lethal Protector, I suppose.
Venom: Oh! You really meant it!
      Eddie: Yeah.
Venom: We will need a cape, and a mask!
Eddie: [beat] No... no, I think you got that covered. We're good.
    • There's also the fact that when the camera pulls back to show them against the sunset, their bodies form a rough, slightly lopsided, but identifiable heart.
    • As a few keen-eyed fans have pointed out; Eddie is watching the sunset and says, "It's beautiful, huh?" Venom nods in agreement, but they're not looking at the sunset. They're looking at Eddie.
    • The extended version of the scene is just as cute. While Eddie admits that he does like Venom, he denies loving him. Venom doesn't buy it for a second.
Venom: Of course Eddie! You must fight it, sure. [laughs] Hey... Eddie.
      Eddie: ...Yeah?
Venom: [teasingly] You do love me!
      Eddie: No, I do not.
      Venom: You do!
      Eddie: I do not.
      Venom: You do!
Eddie: No, I do not love you.
      Venom: Yes, you do!
      Eddie: Not one bit.
      Venom: You do!
      Eddie: No, not at all.
      Venom: You do!
      Eddie: Not at all.
      Venom: You love me.
      Eddie: No not at all.
      Venom: You do.
      Eddie: Not at all.
Venom: That is the face of a man who's in love.
      Eddie: ...With who?
      • Even better, on the full extended version of the scene on the movie’s special features, Eddie mutters "Maybe a little" after the above exchange.
