Heartwarming / Pataclaun

Go To

Despite being a comedy series, Pataclaun also knew when to deliver the feels.

Season 1

  • Machín spends an entire chapter disowning Monchi and even trying to dispose of her just because she was born female. After finally realizing that he loves his daughter, he goes all the way to the Middle East to rescue Monchi and bring her back home. Machín actually goes through a freaking warzone just to reach her.
  • The family finds an abandoned baby on their doorstep, with a note saying it's Machín's son, after confronting him Wendy decides to keep the baby and raise it as one of their own, even refusing Machín's offer to take it and leave them alone.
  • Monchi's departure divides the family. Wendy and Machín both disapprove of her choice of leaving, while the ghosts actively support and even help her.
    • Queca debates with Wendy by telling her that not only Monchi will grow up and be more mature and independent, but Wendy has to let go of her own My Beloved Smother tendencies. Wendy finally comes to terms with Monchi's departure when a lady watching the show calls her to tell her how she dealt with her own children leaving.
    • Gonzalete, being her most trusted role model, immediately supports Monchi and comes up with the idea of making a fundraiser to pay for her trip. The best part is that almost all the people who donated supported Monchi's choice of traveling around the world without questioning her.
    • Tony, despite all the times he has told Monchi that he would throw her into a cage with hungry tigers among other threats, admits to Monchi that he was never serious about it, and once she leaves, Tony starts to openly cry. To his own shock, he warns the audience that he will do his only good deed willingly: Convince Machín to make up with her.
    • Machín needs a lot of convincing from Tony and some members of the audience, including Carlos Alcántara himself telling him that if he doesn't support Monchi, he is going to ruin his character. Machín goes running to the airport and manages to catch up before the plane takes off.
  • The episode where Tony is replaced by Maruja and despite initially acting proud, both he and the family admit they miss each other terribly.
    • Despite being the new addition to the group and an old friend of the original cast, Maruja immediately can tell that Tony misses them and the others were latching on Maruja as a way to cope with losing Tony. She doesn't hesitate for a moment to give her spot back to him.

Season 2

  • Cousin Hertes in general. Sure, he's goofy and silly and causes bad luck wherever he goes, but he has a sunny disposition and attempts to help others as much as he can (if it's possible). Even he points out that while he's unlucky, he's grateful to have what he has so to make others feel better about their lives.
  • The episode where Tony falls in love with the character of Lorenita, and to see how that love has changed Tony from vain and self-absorbed to be more selfless and thoughtful. He was so in love with the sweet girl that he was even planning to marry her! He also defended her honor from Queca and Gonzalete making vulgar comments about her. Had it not been for Wendy's manipulations, he genuinely would've changed for a new man.
  • For once it's Machín the one who isn't on board with Queca and Gonzalete having a Marriage of Convenience, while Wendy doesn't care if they even like each other or not, as long as Queca gives her a baby. One of his arguments is that despite Wendy's many flaws, he loves her and that's the reason why marriages last on the good and the bad. He later bribes a priest to disuade them from making the vow of "eternal union".
  • In the Iquitos episode, Machín gets peer presured into flirting with the local girls while they are away from their home. But is apprehensive the entire time, even being nervous as one of the girls is practically throwing herself at him. Until, when they are alone he confesses that he is actually married, loves his wife too much and is not interested. The girl then reveals she was Wendy in disguise, and apologizes to Machín for leading him on. Machín instead of getting angry just reiterates his love and they make up.
  • Similarly, Wendy tricks the entire family to have vacations in Arequipa, and the ghosts are understandably furious when she reveals the whole issue (especially because Wendy makes them lose their flight, they are completely out of money, and estranded in the Colca Canyon), and they force her to confess the truth to Machín, expecting him to be the most angry of them all. Instead of his usual fury fits, Machín instead gives away the "treasure" to a Japanese tourist, and thanks Wendy for letting him fulfill his fantasy of being an explorer. He later makes the others admit that they had a good time despite the deceiving.
  • The animal episode, where at the end the clauns aid a shelter for abandoned pets after seeing enough animal cruelty on TV.
  • The final episode, where we see the actors tearfully saying their goodbyes to the audience. They even take their noses off as they hug! Awww.
