In The Scream of the Haunted Mask, the ghost horses save Carly Beth, because she was the only the one to show love for them by placing the carrots. The Haunted Mask shows it cares about Carly-Beth when it says that she is its favorite host and pretty much says that it wants to see her again Halloween next year which shows it to be capable of love and caring as well despite causing the death of one of its previous hosts and helping her defeat the ghost of its previous host showing it to be willing to help its hosts despite its sadistic and near mindless nature.

Near the end of Weirdo Halloween, after Meg cuts her hand to prove she's not a robot, one of the Horrors stops to bandage her bleeding cut. It's easy to miss, but sweet considering how antagonistic the Horrors were in the original series.
