Sakura Cosmos Saga
Intro Arc
- The friendship between Shiki and Rebecca is incredibly sweet to behold. Although he freaks her out at first with the unwanted face and boob touching, she warms up to his earnest friendship with the Granbell robots and parties with him into the night. What really seals it between them is when the robots suddenly turning on the two and begin stomping Shiki into the ground: Rebecca is in tears over an otherwise total stranger getting betrayed by his lifelong friends and family, which clues Shiki in that she's a friend worth fighting for, and he fights back when they threaten her life as well. In return, Rebecca helps him escape this planet gone crazy, calling him her friend without any hesitation. From that point on, they become as sight a pair as anyone who'd know each other for years.
- The aftermath of the Granbell bots' fake uprising shows just how deeply the friendship between Shiki and the bots runs. The bots cared so much for Shiki's well-being that they spent the entirety of their dwindling lifespans preparing to get him off-world, and only in a way to ensure he would never be lonely, even if it meant sacrificing that friendship. As for Shiki, even though he doesn't realize what was really happening, he still doesn't want to leave them behind despite all the pain they've caused him and Rebecca, and declares once he's left that they are all still his friends simply for being there his entire life.
- In Chapter 2, the backstory of Rebecca and Happy, specifically how they met is explored, with Rebecca giving Happy his name, and the two spending all their time together. Even though tragedy briefly strikes the two of them when Happy is hit by a truck, and he's afraid Rebecca won't want to be his friend anymore when he's revived as a machine, Rebecca still lovingly embraces him, assuring him that he's still her best friend, no matter what he looks like.
Norma Arc
- When Sibir threatens to tear off Pino's other leg for "running away" (or rather, getting stolen by Weisz), Weisz comes out of hiding to save her from further torment. Sure, it's to steal her for himself again, but it's clear from his reactions while no one is looking that underneath the scummy behavior his older self outgrew, there's a Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
- He also makes sure to restore the leg Sibir had already destroyed while he's using his Machina Maker to upgrade the Aqua Wing, calling it a special favor.
Skull Fairy Arc
- The reveal that after his failed attempt to find Mother, the Demon King entrusted his personal battleship, the Edens Zero, to Elsie Crimson with the hopes that she would pass it along to Shiki once he was ready to go out into space. And while she had her fun messing around with Shiki and his friends when they finally met, the depths of her regard for the Demon King are obvious as she kept her promise, holding onto the ship for years before delivering it to his "grandson".
Guilst Arc
- After Witch introduces herself and proclaims Shiki the new Demon King and master of Edens Zero, she cries Tears of Joy over having a purpose again.
- Pino gives the most bright-eyed, adorable little smile when Shiki asserts that she has a heart, so he'll never regard her as just a machine.
- After being led to safety by Rebecca, the other B-Cubers captured by Illega all encourage their viewers to check out her channel. Sure, most of the new viewers end up leaving bad reviews, but it's the thought that counts.
Digitalis Arc
- For his Digital Avatar on Digitalis, Shiki picks his old Barbarian Longhair look because the planet reminds him of home, and he fondly wonders if his old friends have returned to normal, reminding us that he truly holds nothing against them.
Sun Jewel Arc
- Although it's mostly depressing coming immediately after Homura's heartwrenching discovery of Valkyrie's death, Homura's friends are brimming with empathy for her, and their reactions show that they want to make sure she will be able to heal properly:
- Rebecca and the others simply give her space to mourn, lightly admonishing the resistance fighters who are raring to recruit her to their cause
- Shiki honors Valkyrie for her heroism and gives Homura words of encouragement before going on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge against Kurenai on their behalf (once Paul gives him the go-ahead). More heartwarming is the fact that Shiki is completely respectful towards Homura's feelings the entire time, telling her it's only natural to feel like she can't pull through after suffering such a huge loss; he only draws the line when Homura declares she might never recover, because just like how his Granbell friends helped him cope with his grandpa's death, Homura has her own friends to help pull her through this.
- After the fighting is done and Kurenai has finally been defeated, Homura declares that Valkyrie was her real mother all along and leaves her old doll at her mentor's feet, to symbolize the bond between them.
Edens One Arc
- It's revealed that after she lost her home, Ziggy raised and protected Elsie, and that Elsie first met Shiki when he was a baby (claiming she changed his diapers), making her Shiki's big sister for all intents and purposes. Those emotions haven't changed, and she remains fiercely protective of him, to the point she's willing to throw herself in front of Justice to protect him.
Aoi Cosmos Saga
Nero 66 Arc
- In the aftermath of Witch's Heroic Sacrifice, Weisz approaches Laguna, having promised to kill him if anything happened to any of the Edens Zero crew. Instead, Weisz rejects his earlier vow, acknowledging that Laguna also probably lost people he cared about in the battle.
Kaede Cosmos Saga
X 495 Arc
- Chapter 176, it's been 3 years since the war in the Aoi Cosmos and the crew has been busy since liberating planets from Ziggy's control and have just escaped the IUA on Bluegarden. This is first time in a long time that the crew has been able to get some R&R and just hang out as friends. During an outing to a water theme park, Rebecca and Shiki take pictures together in lots of silly (and close) poses. During the last shot, Rebecca lands a kiss on Shiki's cheek. Cue lots of blushing, and the pair thank each other for always helping each other out and agree continue having a mutually beneficial relationship and once again affirm their resolve to find Mother. It's heartwarming to see how far their relationship has come since the start of their journey, and this was particularly exciting for shippers of the pair.
- In the same chapter, it's revealed that Labilia has lost much of her popularity and she is Secretly Dying. She goes to see Rebecca, who at this time has become a popular B-Tuber, to apologize for all the cruel things she said and did, stating that she only did it because she was disappointed that she wasn't reaching her full potential but admits that it's not an excuse. To her surprise, Rebecca not only forgives her but also promises to help find a cure for her illness.
