Heartwarming / Dream

Go To

Dream and his friends' most famous outings are attempting repeated murder on each other. With that, it's nice to see moments where they show that they're as close as brothers.

  • Everyone's happiness when Dream hits 5 million subs during the "3 Hunters Finale Rematch" bonus video. They go through similar happiness when George hits 1 million subs.
  • Dream has done two videos (well, a video and a Twitch stream) reacting to and debunking two videos about his own contentnote . While Dream doesn't support the beliefs expressed in the videos (and in fact manages to disprove or at least bring to light the faults of the points in both videos), he also states that he actually doesn't hate the videos themselves and takes extra precaution to warn his fans against attacking the creators behind them.
    • He does it again when one of his proper speedruns is accused of cheating; he calmly and respectfully picks apart the accusations fired his way, and though he disagrees with the result, he ultimately respects the decision on the grounds that speedrunning isn't that much of a priority for him. As he says in his response video, he started proper speedrunning primarily in an effort to train for Manhunt; he's had his fun with the practice over the years, but it's not a priority for him. If they feel his luck is so improbable as to merit the accusations, he'll respect their call.
    • Notably, Dream remains calm when countering each point of the "Unsolved Mystery of Minecraft Manhunt" video. However, when the video suggests that none of the hunters seem to improve over time and are just doomed to be Dream's eternal Butt-Monkey, Dream actually gets very noticeably annoyed and takes extra time out of his reaction to defend the hunters' skill. After all, they're his best friends and there's a reason he has them be the hunters. Just because Dream doesn't hate the video or anyone involved doesn't mean he won't stick up for his friends when said video calls their skill into question.
  • In the eighth Minecraft Championship, the final game (Dodgebolt) sees Dream and Technoblade's team (the Pink Parrots) against the Aqua Axolotls, who entered the game leading in points. While most of the teams are supporting the Aqua Axolotls, a few of the teams can be seen rooting for the Pink Parrots, among them the Green Guardians and the Red Rabbits. Or, for context, the two teams holding George and Sapnap and TommyInnit and WilburSoot respectivelynote .
    • After Dream lands the final shot and wins MCC for his team, the aforementioned teams go nuts, with George, Sapnap, Tommy, and Wilbur all cheering. Just goes to show that no matter how many Manhunts are held or how often Tommy can be found badmouthing Dream, these guys will always be good friends of Dream's.
    • And not to mention, when the Pink Parrots win MCC, Dream turns to the right and looks straight at Sapnap. Sapnap, wearing the Pink Parrots' banner, is jumping up and down in celebration.
  • In the eighth Minecraft Championship, everyone in the Pink Parrots and their stream chats begin to cheer on KingBurren after he manages to clutch a 2v1 in the third round of Dodgebolt.
Dream: They call him king for a reason!
  • During the buildup to the Dream/Technoblade duel, both Dream & Techno mention that they have nothing but respect for each other, and that neither of them truly mean the jabs they throw at each other. They also warn their fans against attacking the other regardless of who wins. This carries into the duel itself and even its aftermath.
    • After the duel, despite Techno winning 6-4, the two duelists wound up splitting the prize equally. And even further, it's revealed that the two decided on splitting the prize before the fight in order to take off some of the pressure from the fight.
    • A subtle example from the fight. At one point, Techno gets distracted with stripped logs and his mind wanders completely from the fight, having forgotten to take his ADHD medication that day. Dream could easily use the opportunity to combo Techno and earn a quick point, but instead he waits patiently for Techno to finish what he's doing.
  • In Bad's stream celebrating 1 million subs, Dream congratulates Techno on his victory in their duel and commemorates his bravery and skill despite immense pressure mounting on him, knowing Techno had more to lose from the duel than Dream did. Dream outright states that while he would've liked to win for his own sake, he sees Techno winning as the best option for everyone, knowing that Techno would've never heard the end of it had he lost.
Dream: We were friends before the fight, and I'm glad we're able to be friends after the fight.
  • In this Discord post, Dream reveals that he was approached by MineCon Live to attend an after-show event in order to represent speedrunning. However, he felt that speedrunner Illumina deserved to represent it as well, having been part of the speedrunning community for much longer and being just as if not more devoted to it than Dream. Thus, Dream only offered to join under the condition that Illumina be allowed to join him. He immediately turned it down when this was rejected.
  • There are plenty of them in George's video, "Minecraft, but I'm Not Colorblind Anymore" where George tries on colorblind glasses for the first time with Dream. Dream is so happy for his friend to be able to see Minecraft as it was meant to be, and at one point mentions crying because of this.
  • After losing MCC 7 despite all being on a team, the Dream Team makes sure to make it up in MCC 11, the next time they're allowed on a team. And they do that in spades, with them winning the entire event. Why is this heartwarming? Because this means George and Sapnap's first-ever MCC win was with the united Dream Team (Dream had previously won MCC 8).
  • It's subtle compared to the moment below, but during MCC 12 Dream's entire team uses Techno's skin so that he can be there in spirit (Techno was absent from that event). And when they place fifth, Dream takes the time to comment that it's not the skin that makes Techno good, but that he's just an outstanding player.
  • The ending of MCC 12. After George and Wilbur pull off the win, Dream reflects on the event. He then takes the time to compliment both George and Sapnap (the latter of whom managed to reach third on the individual leaderboard), as well as Bad (who didn't participate in any MCC but does have wins in Minecraft Monday), noting that although they're Overshadowed by Awesome in the Manhunts, MCC allows them to show that they're up there in skill with the likes of Dream and Techno.
  • During the 4 Hunters finale, Dream manages to once again attract an entire pod of dolphins to help him swim quickly. Once he makes landfall, he notices one of the dolphins got stuck out of the water. He proceeds to actually take the time to save the dolphin by pushing it back into the water, despite it giving him no advantage over the hunters whatsoever.
  • If one pays attention in the "4 Hunters Finale" video, one can see that Ant didn't actually have enough diamonds to create full diamond armor for all four hunters—while George, Sapnap, and Bad get full diamond, Ant himself is only wearing some diamond armor (with the missing parts replaced with iron armor), suggesting he prioritized his friends over himself. It's subtle, but it's there.
  • In the extra video for the 4 Hunters finale, the hunters point out that they gave Dream another rematch after the 3 Hunters Finale ended 1-2 for the Hunters, so Dream should give them a rematch after it's 2-1 for Dream. Dream could have tried to argue otherwise (whether he would have succeeded is another story), but he agrees to give the hunters another chance without putting up much (if any) resistance. He also lets BadBoyHalo try his hand at being the hunted upon Bad expressing his desire to experience Manhunt from the other side, although it fails early on.
  • In the "4 Hunters Finale Rematch" bonus video, the hunters cheer loudly for Ant's victory over Dream, happily chanting his name.
  • The community's tremendous outpour of love and support after AntFrost is revealed to be gay. There's also the fact that Ant trusted Dream to help reveal it for him.
  • In Dream's acceptance speech during the 2020 Streamy Awards (he'd received the award for Gaming), he personally thanks his fans as well as George, Sapnap, and Bad for getting him as far as he did. He specifically says that without his friends, he'd never have made it to where he is today.
  • The sheer fact that Dream and his friends get to share in on each other's success. They get to be famous and successful, and they get to do it together.
