Heartwarming / Digimon Codex

Go To

"Let's Get Digital"

  • When Micro Chips tells Flash about Codex and how you actually feel like the Digimon you battle with, unlike other stories where this would come off as Cassandra Truth such as in Chaotic, the inspiration of this story, Flash actually believes Micro and his claims. Micro also says he has already recommended Flash join to the Codex Commanders.

"New Partners and New Situations"

  • When Flash doesn't arrive in Primary Village like he was supposed to, Micro goes to the Codex Commanders to tell them of the situation, they immediately begin searching for him since he could be in some serious danger.
  • The quick friendship that forms between Flash and Veemon, from Veemon's joy at Flash freeing him by moving the Digimental Of Courage to fighting Monochromon to protect each other and Veemon Armor Digivolving into Flamedramon.
  • Shining Armor, the best player in Codex, volunteers to help find Flash when he hears what happened to him and saves him and Veemon from a pack of Tyrannomon.
  • When Flash and Veemon are clearly saddened at needing to leave each other, Shining Armor suggests that Flash make Veemon his partner so the two don't need to be separated. They both like this idea and Shining shows Flash how to use the partner scan function to officially make Veemon his partner.
  • When Micro Chips helps Flash put his deck together for his first match, he gives him a scan of a Battle Gear called the Dragon Booster after realizing it would work with Veemon and Flamedramon. Flash, wanting to give Micro something in return, makes a second scan of the Digimental Of Courage and sends it to Micro and says they can consider it a trade.

"A Rocky First Fight"

  • Flash ultimately wins his first match in Codex against Coconut Crasher, thanks in part to the Dragon Booster that Micro gave him.
  • In the previous chapter, Gennai believed that Veemon may be The Last of His Kind since he was previously thought to be extinct, but said he could change that if Veemon allows him to examine and copy his data to reintroduce it to the Digital World. He makes good on that promise in this chapter.
  • When the Codex Commanders offer to buy the Digimental Of Courage from Flash so they can give scans of it to other players, Flash checks with Veemon first to make sure it is okay with him, since it is technically his and he was stuck under it for so long. Veemon lets Flash do whatever he wants with it.
  • Micro and Tentomon explain that it is possible to De-Digivolve your partner Digimon to permanently change their form in the Digi-Lab, saying how Tentomon was originally a Wormmon before he met Micro and always dreamed of flying, with Micro changing him to a Tentomon to make his dream a reality. When it is shown it is possible to change Veemon into a Monodramon, a Digimon Flash previously said he always wanted to play with but never had the card, he decides to keep Veemon the way he is, since changing him isn't his decision to make.

"How to be a Digimon"

  • Sandalwood helping Flash understand how to be a Digimon better by battling him in the Beta-Stadium and teaching him about Digimon instincts.

"Digital Exploration"

  • Flash and Micro finally travel to Primary Village together like they tried to originally do. There, Flash quickly befriends Elecmon, who allows Flash to scan him and the baby Digimon there. Flash chooses to scan a Pichimon, and Elecmon even lets him pick it up and hold it.
  • Micro introduces Flash to his friend Datamon, who provides scans of Battle Gear in exchange for either rare scans or money.
  • While exploring, Flash, Micro, and their partners find Leomon defending a group of Rookie Digimon from Ebidramon, Shellmon, and Gesomon, and they all quickly rush in to help him.
  • After helping Leomon, he recognizes that Flash and Micro are Codex Players and can tell how they are some of the more honorable ones, since they chose to help him instead of using the fight as an opportunity to get scans of him, so he allows them to scan him if they wish as thanks. The two of them happily take him up on his offer, and Flash immediately decides to make a deck for Leomon someday, thinking of how cool it will be to become him.

"A Tricky Opponent to Fight"

  • When Flash initially struggles at the start of his battle with Trixie, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie are all watching with their partner Digimon, and when Fluttershy makes it sound like Flash is going to lose, her partner Terriermon speaking in his defense saying the match is just getting started and there is no way he'll give up so easily. Pinkie also speaks up saying if anyone tries to make fun of him for losing she'll make him feel better, despite literally knowing nothing about him.
  • After Flash narrowly manages to beat Trixie, winning his first Rookie Stadium battle, Trixie is clearly upset because if she had won she would have ranked up to Champion. However, when Flash says it was a good game and offers her a handshake, she agrees and accepts it, promising to win her next battle and advance to the Champion rank, and be even stronger by the time Flash makes it himself.

"Making Friends and Making Enemies"

  • While Flash and Veemon are in the Digi-Lab, looking over Flash's scans and deciding what to Digivolve them into, Trixie and Lunamon come by and offer them some advice on how they can save some money by going on a Digimon Hunt to find a form for a particular Digimon they want, even telling them where they can find a lake full of Betamon where it will be easy to scan one of their Champion forms. This shows that Trixie really is a good sport to Flash, that she doesn't hold a grudge against him for losing to him and can possibly be considered another friend of his.
  • While out on their Digimon Hunt, Flash and Veemon end up meeting Twilight Sparkle and her partner Tawnimon.
    • Flash shouts a warning to her before she and Tawnimon can be attacked by Seadramon.
    • The two and their Digimon end up deciding to work together to chase after and scan a Airdramon, with Flash offering to give her an extra scan he got of Seadramon in exchange.
    • While battling Airdramon, Twilight teaches Flash how to Biomerge, where they can actually transform into one of their Digimon scans, as well as other helpful advice like leaving a deck blank to have Veemon Digivolve into whatever is most helpful in the moment as long as he can become it naturally.
    • After returning to Codex, Flash has two scans of Seadramon and Twilight has two of Airdramon, so they decide to trade with each other and have one scan of each.
  • While Flash and Twilight's digital selves were having their adventure and becoming friends, their Earth selves did not have the best first impression with each other, with Flash suffering a Humiliation Conga all day because of Twilight and both of them getting detention. However, once they get their memories of their adventure together, the two can't help but laugh together over everything, and decide to start over with each other.

"The Castle in the Clouds"

  • Micro's deck that he uses in his match against Lightning Dust pretty much only exists thanks to The Power of Friendship:
    • It initially looks like Micro is going to Digivolve Tentomon into Kabuterimon, only to surprise everyone by instead using a scan of the Digimental Of Courage, the same one Flash gave him, to Armor Digivolve Tentomon into FlameWizardmon.
    • Later during the match, FlameWizardmon Digivolves into Mistymon. He explains that he has actually had that scan of Mistymon for a long time, having befriend him in the Digital World, but he could never use his scan before because he never had a Digimon to use with him. Until Flash gave him the scan of the Digimental Of Courage. Micro says he couldn't have won without the scan Flash gave him.

"Battle Down the Mines"

  • Flash, Micro, Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow all helping to protect the village being attacked by Fangmon and rescuing the Monmon slaves that were abducted.
  • Rainbow Dash says after she saw Flash in action with his Armor Digimon, she thought he was so awesome she decided to purchase a scan of the Digimental Of Courage herself. Though it turned out to be useless for her partner Kamemon she found out her scan of Hawk on can use it to become Pteryxmon.

"Digital Battle of the Sexes"

  • Even when it seems like all of Codex is getting involved in the battle of the sexes feud that Sandalwood and Trixie started, their partners Mangoramon and Lunamon try to talk them out of it and don't get involved in their battle. Later when Flash, Twilight, and their partners arrive and see the scene, they join the two of them, as well as Micro and Tentomon, in the center of the foyer, avoiding all the drama.

"Like it Ore Not, The Hunt is On"

  • After all the drama that was caused between the boys and girls during their hunt for the ore for Datamon, Flash and Micro still immediately step in to save Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie from Landramon instead of taking advantage of it to take the ore, with all of them working together to defeat it. This leads to them deciding how to best share it, only to discover a motherload of it with enough for Datamon to finish both pieces of Battle Gear instead of just one. This also leads to everyone realizing it is better for them all to work together when not battling in the stadiums instead of competing against each other.
  • As of this chapter, Flash and Micro have met and befriended all of Twilight's friends.

"Crushing Loss"

  • Both Twilight and Shining Armor help Flash get his act together and help him out of his depression over losing Veemon.
    • Twilight confronts Flash in the real world and calls him out for doing nothing for several days, and tells him to get Veemon back by finding a new rare Digimon to scan and challenge Jet again to win Veemon back.
    • Shining saves Flash from his own recklessness, and helps prepare him to battle Jet again by battening him in the Beta-Stadium to show him how to improve his battling. He is essentially acting as Flash's mentor, training him in his time of need.
  • Flash is revealed to have made a deck for Leomon like he wanted to.

"Lessons Learned the Hard Way"

  • Though Flash ultimately loses to Shining, he regains his confidence and determination to get Veemon back.
  • Shining lets Flash borrow three scans to get Jet to accept another Ante-Battle, and help him against him. These scans are revealed to be Monodramon, Strikedramon, and Cyberdramon, which aren't just rare, they're scans of Shining's ace and partner.
    • After getting these scans, Flash spends presumably the rest of the night practing with them in the Beta-Stadium, taking what he learned from Shining to heart.
    • Adding to this, Flash previously said he always wanted to play with Monodramon. Now, he's going to use it to save his real partner.
  • The Codex Commanders discuss the mistake they made with allowing Digimon to be wagered in Ante-Battles, and what happened to Flash and Veemon has negatively affected not just them, but everyone in Codex. They decide to change the rules to make it so this can never happen again, but decide to wait until Flash gets Veemon back first, knowing for certain he will get him back.
  • When Twilight and her friends see how smug Jet is being, avoiding all consequences for his actions, they prepare to go march over and beat him to a pulp, consequences be damned. They are only stopped when Flash arrives, demanding another Ante-Battle from Jet.
  • It is shown that pretty much everyone in Codex is in support of Flash, booing Jet when he initially refuses a rematch with Flash, and then cheering Flash on when Jet can't resist the three scans Flash wages against him.

"A Rematch To Remember"

  • The absolute joy over Flash defeating Jet and winning Veemon back.
    • Everyone in Codex screams in joy over his victory, with Flash's friends the loudest of all, hugging each other and some crying Tears of Joy.
    • When Flash reunites with Veemon, he completely ignores Jet as he swears revenge, apologizing to Veemon for getting tricked by Jet and losing him and everything he went though because of it, saying he doesn't blame him if he never wants to see him again. However, Veemon says there is nothing to forgive since he fell for his trick too and he saw Flash fight to save him, with the two partners hugging each other.
  • The Codex Commanders officially update the Ante-Battle rules so only scans and items can be wagered, never actual Digimon now, while apologizing for the pain and disrespect this has caused.
  • Flash tries to return the scans that Shining let him borrow, but Shining surprisingly tells him to keep them, believing he can put them to good use.
  • Flash decides his new goal is to get good enough to face Shining Armor again, wanting Shining to challenge him when he thinks he's strong enough.

"Avians and Insects"

  • After Twilight's match with Thorax, Thorax and Grubmon basically end up joining the main group. When Thorax explains how he is planning to go look for a rare jungle location, hoping to get a scan of Hudiemon or one of its warriors, Flash and Twilight ask if they can come with him, with him gladly agreeing.

"Taking it to the Ex-Treme"

  • Fluttershy is revealed to be the one who found and gained the Digimental of Kindness. When the Codex Commanders offered to buy it from her, she happily gave it to them so they could add it to the Digital Data Stream and help Wild Digimon become the ones they want to be by Armor Digivolving.
  • When Flash and Veemon are captured by Hudiemon and her army of insect Digimon, and Hudiemon shows her Fantastic Racism towards humans, Veemon constantly speaks in defense of Flash. When Hudiemon offers Veemon to join them and let them help him Digivolve into an an insectoid Digimon, Veemon refuses and says he'll never abandon Flash.
  • Veemon Digivolves into ExVeemon in order to save Flash and defeat Stingmon.
  • Doubling as a funny moment, but even as the entire stadium is descending into chaos, when Fluttershy scans Hudiemon, she says that she was so beautiful she just had to get a scan of her.

"The Knight's Tale"

  • The main group is first seen together in Codex, with all eleven of them and their Digimon all eating burgers and fries while celebrating a string of wins from several of them.
  • The Royal Knights, well known for constantly being portrayed with Adaptational Villainy across the franchise, are confirmed to finally being portrayed with the respect they deserve as the protectors of the Digital World. They get several moments throughout the chapter showing this.
    • Dynasmon approaches Micro Chips, saying it is good to see him again. Micro is confused by this, until Dynasmon reveals he is the same Mistymon he befriended at the Castle of Dark Illusion.
    • The Royal Knights try to convince Veemon to stay with and train with them, in the hopes he can join their ranks as the new UlforceVeedramon or Magnamon. Even when Veemon politely declines, wanting to stay with Flash, the Royal Knights understand that they can't force him to join since it would violate everything they stand for. Omnimon does however state the offer will stay open if he changes his mind, and still invites everyone to stay in their castle for the night if they wish.
  • While telling the story of Imperialdramon, it is stated when he met the three Celestial Angels, he saved Ophanimon's life. In time, the two fell in love with each other, and ended up having three children together.

"Royal Knighting"

  • When Flash is unable to sleep and wanders around the castle, he meets a Wingdramon, who is training with his brother Breakdramon to one day become the Royal Knight Examon. When Wingdramon confesses a secret to Flash, that he is preventing himself from Digivolving because when he does and he and his brother fuse, his brother has volunteered to be the one deleted in the process and he is holding off for as long as possible to protect him. Flash is horrified by this and immediately declares he is going to find a way to help them both become Royal Knights without either of them giving up their lives, and asks to scan him so he can help.
  • When Gennai happens to wander into the Digi-Lab while Flash is in there and hears him talking to himself about Examon, Flash explains what is going on and what he is trying to do. Gennai immediately volunteers to help him by modifying his new scan of Slayerdramon, with apparently no payment or favor required in return.
  • When Flash and Veemon explain to the Royal Knights how Wingdramon doesn't want to become Slayerdramon in order to protect his brother, none of the other Royal Knights are angry at him over this. Omnimon even sympathizes over it, remembering how painful it was when his partner MetalGarurumon died. But when Flash explains how he knows how they can both become Royal Knights without either of them dying, thanks to his modified scan of Slayerdramon and discovering that Wingdramon can also Digivolve into UlforceVeedramon, they all decide to give it a shot, with Omnimon letting out a happy laugh and declaring he knew asking Flash to come would be useful.
  • The sheer joy of the brothers Wingdramon and Breakdramon both achieving their dreams of becoming Royal Knights, UlforceVeedramon and Examon respectively, and getting to fight by each other's side thanks to Flash's plan preventing either of them from dying. UlforceVeedramon in particular says he never could have become Examon if it meant giving up his brother, and knows being UlforceVeedramon is his destiny.
  • Back at the castle's main throne room, after the battle with Nidhoggmon is over, Omnimon thanks Flash, saying how despite how they initially invited him to try to steal his partner from him, he has done them a great service in protecting the Digital World and they are even more powerful now thanks to him. Flash assures them if they ever need help again in the future not to hesitate to ask him and his friends.
  • Omnimon offers anything the humans want within their power as thanks for their service. Flash meekly asks on behalf of the group if they can scan the Royal Knights, while saying it is okay if they say no since they said previously they don't allow just anyone to scan them. After a moment, UlforceVeedramon and Examon are the first ones to step forward, as thanks for what Flash did for them, and the other knights all quickly follow their example and allow all four humans to get a scan of each of them, deciding they had earned their trust.

"Memories on the Track"

  • Flash, Micro, Sandalwood, and Trixie have all kept their promise to the Royal Knights not to give away their scans to any other players, not even to the rest of their friends. Although this hasn't helped their reputations much, their friends all accepted their reasons despite being excited to possibly get scans of their own.
  • Flash notes how Trixie and Sandalwood have been using their Royal Knight decks a lot lately, and hopes they don't get too comfortable using them partly because he doesn't want their partners Lunamon and Mangoramon to feel side-lined.
  • The majority of the chapter is an Origins Episode on how Twilight met her friends and future partner.
    • They all met in Berry Town, and as they ride to that very town on a train together Twilight thinks back to the day they all met an long ago.
    • When a flock of Tawnimon attack the town and start stealing any food they can, their leader HooTawnimon eventually appears. But instead of saving its brethren like everyone expects, it orders them all to stop at once and that they should be ashamed of themselves, apologizing to Cherrymon.
    • After HooTawnimon explains how they were kicked out of their old home by a group of Jazamon being lead by Jazardmon, the Codex players all volunteer to help them get it back. This surprises HooTawnimon, that they would help even after the trouble they caused.
    • The Heroic Bystander Kamemon who volunteered to help the Codex Players and saves Rainbow by Digivolving to Tortomon is Rainbow's partner, who accepts her offer to be her partner after the battle. The HooTawnimon is also confirmed to be Twilight's future partner, and he lets her scan her after the battle and they depart as friends.

"The Dragon Soul Stones"

  • Flash reunites with Leomon, who has joined the resistance against the Virus Army.
  • Both Leomon and Baoyendramon stand up to MagnaAngemon and stop him from killing one player's partner Otamamon just for being a Virus type.
  • Rarity and Salamon reunite with Salamon's sister, a former Gatomon that has Digivolved into Angewomon.

"A Promise Kept"

  • During the battle against WarGrowlmon, Baoyendramon briefly stops fighting to make sure Angewomon is okay, saying how he needs to make sure she survives for the next Dragon Soul Stone. Angewomon says he is just as important as herself and MagnaAngemon in that regard since they need him too. While Baoyendramon dismisses himself as just a placeholder that MagnaAngemon wouldn't bother with if anyone else was available, Angewoman says power isn't everything and he has a good heart.
  • Doubling as an awesome moment, Flash and Veemon manage to synchronize and Digivolve to AeroVeedramon, out of pure Heroic Resolve to protect their friends and keep their promise that not a single Digimon would get passed them.
  • After the battle, when Baoyendramon gets the stone and Mega Digivolves to Azulongmon, Angewomon declares him their new leader, with herself and all the surviving members of the Resistance, including the humans who helped and their partners, bowing to him in respect. The first thing Azulongmon says is to remember the comrades they lost in the battle that made their victory possible, and though he might not have been the most suitable candidate to become a Great Dragon he accepts his new responsibilities. Everyone else happily cheers for their humble leader.
  • Angewomon speaks with her sister and Rarity, thanking them for their help and that she is proud of both of them.
  • Azulongmon speaks to Flash and DemiVeemon in private, thanking Flash for his help and asking him if he will be willing to help again when the next Dragon Soul Stone appears, since he himself will be unable to due to being a Mega now. Flash promises he will.

"The Ace of Codex"

  • Shining Armor's victory and Rank Up to being the very first Mega Level player in Codex just inspires Flash even more, and he and Veemon head to the Rookie Stadium for their next battle, determined to win and rank up to Champion so he'll be one step closer to catching up to Shining.

"Battle for the Champion Title"

  • Flash meets Wallflower Blush at the Rookie Stadium as his opponent, with both being able to rank up to Champion if they win. Wallflower says she has been playing for twice as long as Flash and is only now getting the chance to rank up, saying that probably shows how much better than her he is and expects him to completely forget about her when they're done like most people. Flash tries to encourage her though, saying she probably has way more experience than him and there's no way he'll forget her if she beats him.
  • Flash is revealed to have a rare item called Ignislash, a weapon only Fire Attribute Digimon can use. Flash remembers after the battle with WarGrowlmon and Azulongmon thanking him, Flash was allowed to explore the temple and found the weapon, with Azulongmon giving him permission to scan it.
  • Before defeating Wallflower, Flash tells her this has been fun and they should battle again sometime. After winning and ranking up, he tells her he meant what he said and they should battle again when she ranks up.
  • All of Flash's friends applaud him when he gets back, with Rainbow joking he is officially "one of them". Flash also talks to Shining, saying he knows he still has a long way to go but he still intends to battle him in the Mega Stadium one day and beat him. Shining can tell this isn't Flash being cocky like others who have boasted the same thing to him, but someone who wants to improve and face the one he respects the most, with him and Flash sharing a fist bump.

"Taste of the Forbidden Fruit"

  • When a village in the Digital World is endangered by a landslide, Flash, Micro, Sandalwood, and Trixie thankfully arrive with their Digimon to save them all. The leader of the village, Dinohyumon, is especially grateful.
  • Flash and the others do even more for the village by offering to find a Sena Fruit to make sure nobody gets deleted, with Flash and Trixie staying in the village to trying to nurse everyone while Micro and Sandalwood get the fruit.
  • Micro spends most of the chapter feeling like Flash has gone from being just a newb in Codex to getting ahead of him with all he has accomplished in a short time, including being able to Digivolve to Ultimate and getting into the Champion Rank in Codex. Sandalwood assures him Flash has his own way of doing things and so does Micro, which Flash himself tells Micro at the end, saying he is special in his own awesome way.

"Double Battle, Double Trouble"

  • After Twilight explains to Flash how Spike is trying to earn his way into Codex on his own, she says she knows he'll get there in the end despite the trouble he is currently having and will appreciate it even more after all the work he put in.
  • Applejack and Rarity are confirmed to be friends in real life outside of Codex, and thus make excellent partners in Tag Battles.

"The Storm of Friendship"

  • It is confirmed that even though Flash and Trixie have been feuding with each other for three days, their partners don't share their feelings. Veemon and Lunamon still consider each other friends and don't like being forced to not hang out.
  • A flashback shows how Trixie and Lunamon met, when Trixie found Lunamon crying because all the other Digimon are mean to her making fun of her long ears and antenna. Trixie told her not to hide herself or let whatever jerks say get her down, since Lunamon's feelings about her appearance were the only ones that mattered, and she tells her how she likes her ears and antenna, causing her to cry Tears of Joy. Lekismon refers to that as the real Trixie instead of the facade she hides behind.
  • Flamedramon and Lekismon immediately agree to work together during the adventure when they and their partners run into each other, while also calling out Flash and Trixie for being dumb enough to let their falling out interfere with their goals.
  • During the battle with Flaremon, Flash saves Trixie from falling off a broken edge to her potential death. When it seems like this is going to make them lose the Digimental to Jet Set, Trixie apologizes. But Flash says her life is more important than a Digimental. This repairs their friendship, and proves him worthy of the Digimental of Friendship.
Trixie: Why? Why would you risk your life for me after how badly I was to you?
Flash: You might be an egocentric, narcissistic pain in the backside, but you're my egocentric narcissistic pain in the backside. We might not always get along, and we might not be able to fight together very well, but I still see you as my friend. And if my friends are in danger, nothing is more important than saving them. Not a little trinket and not even my own life. Because nothing is more important than my friends.
  • Though Played for Laughs due to Raidramon's dislike over doing it, he still helps save Jet when the cave starts to collapse, despite his hatred for him. He also earlier refused to attack him earlier, due to not wanting to delete him.
  • When Flash and Trixie return to Codex with the Digimental of Friendship, Gennai notes how Trixie has it and asks if she would like to sell it. Trixie confesses that Flash was the one that really retrieved it and prepares to give it to him, but instead Flash asks if they can split the reward since they worked together to retrieve it. Gennai agrees, first checking to make sure they both have scans of it before doing the transaction.
  • In the ending scene, after it is revealed Flaremon survived the battle and is about to go into a coma or possibly even die, Sunset Shimmer appears and gives him a pill to help him recover. Though her exact reasons for this are a bit ambiguous at the moment, it is still her saving him without being prompted to.

"Beach Day Mystery"

  • Pinkie decides to schedule a beach day for everyone, thinking they are running themselves ragged with all their training to break their limits and become stronger, wanting them all to have a little fun.
  • Rarity volunteers to make the girls some swimsuits for the beach.

"Dark Waves Rising"

  • Thanks to Jijimon's Heroic Sacrifice, the Digidestined are able to Warp Digivolve to defeat Dagomon and save their friends. The Codex Commanders also assure them that despite having been deleted in the Dark Ocean, Jijimon's data was returned to Primary Village. He won't remember his past life or heroic deeds, but hopefully his new life will be just as heroic as his previous one.
  • Pinkie is upset that her beach day she planned for everyone was ruined, so the others cheer her up by telling her that they did good being there when they did, and it gives them an excuse to make plans for another day of fun, and if that gets ruined too they'll keep trying until they get it right. Also, Dilemon hugs Pinkie's leg to help her feel better.

"The Battle of Milk and Cookies"

  • This chapter is a low-stakes fun battle between Pinkie and Rainbow in Codex, with the two friends assuring no hard feelings regardless of who wins.

"Mirror Mirror"

  • At first it seems like AncientWisemon is another Monster of the Week, attacking and imprisoning everyone just for being on his territory. However, it quickly becomes clear he is actually being a Stealth Mentor to Flash and Thorax, testing them if they have the confidence to keep fighting against a stronger opponent. He also unlocks ExVeemon's and Stingmon's DNA Digivolution forms Paildramon and Dinobeemon during their battle, and congratulates them when they win the battle, saying he had a good feeling about them.
  • When Flash speaks up saying Thorax will have him and his other friends there to help him break any limits and put him back together if he breaks, AncientWisemon laughs happily, remembering his own friends, the nine other Legendary Warriors, and how they all once worked together to save the Digital World.

"Target Locked"

  • Just as Flash promised, he and his friends immediately respond when they are messaged that the second Dragon Soul Stone has appeared and aid the Resistance once again.

"Burying the Hatchet"

  • While trapped underground with Megadramon, Flash discovers he is the same Airdramon he and Twilight chased and scanned. The two work together to get out and Flash slowly befriends the Ultimate Level Digimon in the process.
    • Megadramon opens up to him about what happened after their first encounter, and how he hates being a Virus Type because of how the whole Digital World has shunned him and attacked him due to viewing him as evil. But Flash assures him his typing doesn't automatically make him evil, telling him how their are Viruses even among the Royal Knights and how Examon used to be a Virus Type himself, Breakdramon, and how he didn't think he deserved to be a knight at first because of it, but proved he was worthy.
    • Flash assures Megadramon he can be whatever he wants to be. His destiny isn't automatically to be a destroyer like WarGrowlmon says, since he can choose his own path. Megadramon admits he doesn't want the Digital World to be destroyed but has nowhere else to go, so Flash promises to help find him a home, saying he can put in a good word for him to the Royal Knights, leaving Megadramon shocked he would do that for him after he tried to destroy him.
    • When the two seemingly come to a dead end , Flash realizes there is a way out behind the wall, with him and Megadramon finding their way out. Flash uses this as another example of things aren't always what they seem, with Megadramon smiling in understanding, and the next time they appear, Megadramon turns against WarGrowlmon.
Flash: Things aren't always as they seem. If you look closely, you'll find the true worth of something you think can only be one thing. Whether it's a stone wall...or a Digimon.
  • When Armormon reveals that Megadramon can potentially use the Dragon Soul Stone to Digivolve into Megidramon like WarGrowlmon can, taunting him that he's nothing but a destroyer, Flash reminds him of what he told him, and Angewomon offers him the same encouragement.
  • Paildramon carries Angewomon to the Dragon Soul Stone, saying that she deserves it more than MagnaAngemon, allowing her to Mega Digivolve to Magnadramon.
  • After the battle MagnaAngemon prepares to delete Megadramon due to him being a Virus Digimon and can potentially become Megidramon. However, Magnadramon curls around him protectively, declaring him the only reason she was able to Digivolve and WarGrowlmon didn't get the stone. Azulongmon and Flash agree with her. Magnadramon offers him a place in the Resistance, saying he can be an example to the other Virus Digimon in the Digital World that they don't need to be evil. He accepts, bowing to her and devoting himself to their cause.
  • At the Great Dragon's Temple, Flash and his friends speak to the two Great Dragons of the Resistance and Megadramon. Megadramon thanks Flash again, and allows him to scan him if he wants, to go along with his previous Airdramon scan he has, Flash happily doing so. Similarly, Magnadramon tells Rarity and her sister Salamon she is proud of how bravely the two fought, and allows them to scan her too, to complete the collection with her Champion and Ultimate forms.

"A Rapid Battle"

  • Rainbow and Fluttershy are confirmed to be friends outside of Codex too, with Rainbow telling the others what Fluttershy is like in online battles before she got to Codex and found out Digimon were real.
  • In the climax of Fluttershy's battle, Terriermon encourages Fluttershy not to give up and show her opponent why she's the Merciless Mistress.
  • After Fluttershy's defeated opponent is a Sore Loser, complaining about how she should have been easy to beat, Fluttershy is the bigger person and says how you shouldn't judge someone on how they appear. When he stays upset and runs off, Fluttershy just says it is his choice and he's only hurting himself.
  • As soon as Micro and the others realize Datamon is missing, they contact every player in their friends list to see if they know anything. When Shining learns Datamon is missing, he even shares a bunch of different location scans with the others so they can look everywhere they can think of to try finding him.

"Hook Line and Sinker"

  • The chapter mostly follows flashbacks, showing that Cherrymon contacted Twilight and her friends to request their help after Hookmon attacks Berry Town and kidnaps several Digimon from there, including HooTawnimon's flock. Twilight and the girls all immediately agree to save them all, working with HooTawnimon.

"Belly of the Beast"

  • The flashbacks from the previous chapter are given a conclusion here, finally showing how Twilight and HooTawnimon officially became partners. After returning the kidnapped Digimon to Berry Town, Rarity comments on how Twilight said she was looking for the perfect partner, and it seems like HooTawnimon is just that. HooTawnimon agrees they make a good team but fears leaving his flock without him as leader. The rest of his flock all know this is what he wants though and encourage him to go with Twilight, saying they will get stronger on their own while he's gone until they're the same Level as him. So, HooTawnimon accepts becoming Twilight's partner, and upon being partner scanned by her De-Digivolved into Tawnimon, rushing into her arms and hugging her.
  • Upon recalling this memory, HooTawnimon declares he won't let CaptainHookmon hurt Twilight or anybody else again, Digivolving into his Ultimate Level, CresTawnimon.

"Cold Reliable"

  • After Thorax spends the whole chapter off his game due to the pressure his mother Chrysalis has been putting on him recently, with him initially failing to lift the Digimental of Reliability due to it, he ultimately decides what he wants to do with his life is help his friends and prepares to leave the Digimental behind so he can get back and help them fight Akhlumon. This action ultimately proves him worthy of the Digimental, and Thorax is able to give it to Flash so Veemon can become Depthmon.
  • Upon returning to Codex with the Digimental, Thorax agrees to sell it to the Codex Commanders without issue, with them telling him he is doing the Digital World a great service since now Digimon everywhere will be able to access the Digimental of Reliability if they want to.

"Rosewell that Ends Well"

  • Though Vademon is punished for what he did to Micro, Micro speaks in Pillomon's defense since Vademon forced her to help him under threat of violence. The Codex Commanders agree to let her go, but warn her to be careful in the future since there are those like Vademon that can exploit her dangerous powers before sending her home.

"Gearing Up for War"

  • Megadramon seems a lot happier now than in his previous appearance. He first is seen flying with everyone else leading them to where he thinks the Virus Army base should be, allowing Flash and Veemon to ride on his head. He is also more willing to stand up to MagnaAngemon when he continuously directs his Fantastic Racism at him.
  • After no results for several chapters, now the Digidestined finally know what happened to Datamon, realizing he's being help captive by WarGrowlmon and is being forced to create Battle Gear for the Virus Army. It is a step in the right direction.
  • Bokomon makes a brief appearance and explains to Twilight and the girls the information they are looking for should be found in the Library of Infinite Knowledge, giving them a scroll with their info on it, and warning them of the dangers of getting there.

"Silence in the Library"

  • While Twilight's friends explore the different sections of the library we see moments of them and their partner Digimon being cute together as they look over everything.
    • Fluttershy and Terriermon read side by side together.
    • As Applejack reads a book about farming, Labramon closes his own book and rests his head in her lap, allowing her to scratch him behind the ears as she reads.
    • As Rarity reads a book about fashion in the Digital World, she discusses potentially making something for Salamon one day, with the two of them rubbing cheeks affectionately.
    • As Pinkie reads various cook books, Dilemon fetches other books for her and drops them in a pile before joining her. When he looks hungry from reading with her she gives him a lollipop.
    • When Rainbow is uninterested in reading anything at first, Kamemon tricks her into reading something she will like by asking her to read it for him.

"Eclipse Battle"

  • The opening scene has Sunset and her partner Coronamon training together. Sunset however notes that she thinks that Coronamon is strong enough and they can't spend too much time on this anymore, noting they need to be ready for when the next Dragon Soul Stone appears, since they weren't there in the last battle and it was almost a disaster. This shows that Sunset does indeed care about the Digital World and doesn't want it destroyed by WarGrowlmon or anyone else.
  • Sunset became Coronamon's partner to help him get revenge on Trixie and Flash for destroying his old home when they took the Digimental of Friendship, but only so he can move on with his life instead of holding on to his grudge forever. When the two of them loses their match to Trixie and Lunamon, Trixie apologizes for destroying his home, but points out that it led to him meeting Sunset and she can tell they care about each other. Sunset, hugging him close, tells him it's time to move on and let go of revenge, with the two of them becoming friends with Trixie and the others, and Trixie getting Flash and Veemon to apologize to him too.

"In a Land Before Time"

  • Flash and Veemon end up running into Wallflower Blush after they win their match. Flash actually remembers her from their match, much to her surprise. After a moment, Micro and Sandalwood remember her too, though get her last name wrong. Though she still smiles anyway, still pleasantly surprised they remember her at all.
  • When Flash receives a message from UlforceVeedramon asking for a human's help, Flash explains to Wallflower how they go way back with how he helped him and his brother Digivolve into Royal Knights and he and Veemon are practically like family due to being part of the same Digivolution Line.
  • After Micro and Sandalwood agree to come with Flash to help with whatever UlforceVeedramon needs, Flash asks if Wallflower wants to come too. She is clearly surprised by this but agrees.
  • Though UlforceVeedramon briefly mistakes Wallflower for Trixie, due to having a hard time telling some humans apart, he doesn't have any problem with her being there.
  • UlforceVeedramon explains how he is looking for the Digimental of Miracles, in the hopes that it can be used to create Magnamon before the final Dragon Soul Stone appears so the Royal Knights can actually do something to help, due to Magnamon being an Armor Digimon instead of a Mega. He needs some humans to potentially help lift it like the other Digimentals that have all been found, but says that all of them will be allowed to scan it before he takes it back to the Royal Knights.
  • Despite not being able to find the Digimental of Miracles in the Great Valley like UlforceVeedramon had hoped, everyone is at least pleased they were able to help with something by helping Ankylomon prepare his rock wall for when the volcano erupted. Thankfully by some miracle, the forest seemed untouched by the eruption, meaning the Digimon that live there still have their homes.
  • Wallflower says she had fun on the adventure and is glad she came, hoping she can do it again one day.

"Beauty and the Beast"

  • Sunset takes Twilight, Trixie, and Fluttershy to the Mountains of Abundance, a location that is to Sunset what Berry Town is to Twilight and her group of friends. Sunset is shown to be friends with the Digimon that live there, with them waving hello to her when she and the others arrive.
  • Sunset spends most of the chapter thinking Fluttershy is a weak coward for wanting to avoid fighting Lamortmon. When she sees her in action as GreatHudiemon though, defeating Lamortmon singlehandedly she realizes she was wrong about her, she's braver and stronger than she thought and apologizes to her for what she said. Sunset also tells the Digimon of the village that Fluttershy was the one that defeated Lamorton and leads them all in cheering for her.
  • Even when Fluttershy was forced to delete Lamorton, she shows it respect as it dies and wishes it a more peaceful next life.

"Canyon Bombardment"

  • After Flash wins a battle in Codex by Mega Digivolving from Megadramon to UlforceVeedramon, he and. Demon decide that next time they see Megadramon they should tell him that is one of his potential evolutions. Even if only one UlforceVeedramon can exist in the Digital World at a time he thinks just hearing one of his possible evolutions is a great hero will make his day.
  • When Flash meets with Megadramon again, Megadramon says he is doing great since almost everyone in the Resistance (the sole exception being MagnaAngemon) have opened up to him and accepted him, with it feeling like a real home now. As he says this, a Frigimon is handing out Digi-Bites to all the brave heroes that came to help, and gives some to Megadramon as well.

"True Strength"

  • Upon Flash and Veemon managing to Mega Digivolve into Imperialdramon, Shining is proud of Flash for how far he has come and comments "Go get 'em."
  • Even after all that Armormon did and all the times they fought him, after Imperialdramon destroys Bombardramon, he says he hopes that in his next life he finds friends he wishes to protect like his own.

"The Great Dragon War's Climax"

  • Megadramon attempts a Heroic Sacrifice, grabbing the final Dragon Soul Stome and intending to become Megidramon just so that WarGrowlmon can't and hold off the evil in himself long enough for his friends to destroy him. But as he begins to Mega Digivolve, and Megidramon begins to slowly take over him, Megadramon hears his friends calling out to him, reminding him he decides who he is and nobody else. With this, Megadramon fights back against Megidramon, declaring he will not become him and Digivolves into Goldramon instead.
  • Goldramon hopes that WarGrowlmon finds friends that teach him the lessons his own friends taught him in his next life. WarGrowlmon for his part dies with a smile.
  • After WarGrowlmon is deleted, Goldramon talks peacefully with the remaining members of the Virus Army, saying they can all make a choice to be better like he did. He points out they can make a home in the canyon, start over and make a peaceful life for themselves. One by one, each of the Viruses agree they want to try.
  • Goldramon allows Flash to scan his Mega Form to complete his collection of him.
  • Shining Armor, impressed by Flash managing to Digivolve to the Mega Level, challenges him to a match in the Beta-Stadium in one week.

"Flash V Shining: Rematch Time"

  • While all of Codex is in a frenzy for the match between Flash and Shining, Flash's friends all got the best seats in the house.
  • The Codex Commanders have set up several screens to allow their friends in the Digital World to watch this amazing battle too. This includes the Great Dragons and a few members of their army, wanting to watch the two heroes of their war and Goldramon cheering on Flash, and the Royal Knights, with some hoping Flash will use his scan of Imperialdramon so they can potentially learn more about it and if it is indeed their creator.

"Now's the Final Fight"

  • During the battle, Imperialdramon finds the area with the cave that Flash and Veemon first met, with the two partners reminiscing on how far they have come since then.
  • In the climax of the battle, Shining trusts Flash to lead him and the others again for when the next threat to the Digital World eventually arrives.
  • Though Flash comes up short, he's satisfied with how well he did in the battle when Shining and Monodramon confirm he would have won if his attack had landed first. The rest of Codex also treat him like a hero for coming a hair's breath away from beating the best Player in Codex. Later in the human world, Flash receives several messages from his digital friends. The Royal Knights were amazed by by Imperialdramon Fighter Mode and hope to see it in person, Leomon and the Great Dragons say how amazing his battle was, and Datamon asks Flash if he's willing to share a scan of Imperialdramon's Dragon and Fighter Modes.
  • The Codex Commanders seem to be considering letting Spike join Codex soon, if he can keep his record up with his current winning streak.
