Even in a bleak setting like a Killing Game, heartwarming moments of friendship and love can still shine through.
- When suspicion on who's the traitor starts to turn towards Sunset, due to her knowledge of Danganronpa and the Killing Game, several of the other passengers speak in her defense. It initially seems like opinion of her is split down the middle, until Adagio, who previously led the charge against Sunset, changes her stance and sides with her, after Sunset explained her knowledge of Equestria with everyone.
- When Sunset wakes up late one morning, she finds out that everyone was frantically looking for her, due to everyone believing she might have been killed when she didn't show up for breakfast. Considering how half the group thought she might be the traitor at the start of the Killing Game, it is a sweet gesture to see they were worried sick about her.
- Pinkie planning a huge party for everyone to help lift their spirits. Even stuck in something as horrible as a Killing Game doesn't stop her from being Fun Personified (at least for now).
- Sunset acts as a The Matchmaker for Sci-Twi and Flash during the party. She encourages Flash to make a move on Sci-Twi, relieving him of his duty as DJ so he can talk to her. They are later seen happily chatting together, and spend the night together in Sci-Twi's room.
- Following the aftermath of the first trial, and watching Timber's brutal execution, Adagio goes to Sunset's room, seeking comfort. The two end up sharing their First Kiss together before deciding to embrace each other and fall asleep together.
- While investigating the theater, Sunset finds Trixie's hat and cloak, and a photo of the two of them and Wallflower together, probably taken sometime after Forgotten Friendship. When Sunset shows Trixie what she found, she is filled with joy over having her hat and cloak back, and when Sunset shows her the photo of them, she opens up to her about her past and how she just wants to go home. The two decide that even if they don't remember being friends before, they want to be friends now.Trixie: Sunset, can we… Can we be friends again?
Sunset: For the first time?
Trixie: Sure. Whatever.
Sunset: You got it, Trixie. - Although Apple Bloom's death is tragic and heartbreaking, especially with Applejack begging her not to die as she cradles her, Apple Bloom is at least able to Face Death with Dignity, telling Applejack that she's going to see their mom and dad again, promising to give them her love and using her last words to tell her she loves her. That's a lot more than most victims in the Killing Games ever get.
- Not wanting to be alone after the second trial, Adagio and Trixie both end up coming to Sunset's room and sleeping with her for the night. Though Word of God confirms that this is not the start of a polyamory between the three, saying Sunset is only officially with Adagio, it is still a cute moment between the three of them.
- When Sunset asks Adagio what she was actually doing at the theater the other night, saying she could at least tell her since she covered for her in the trial, Adagio admits she was trying to sing, because it is siren tradition to serenade their lovers and eventually write a song to finalize the arrangement and sing it together. Though Adagio clarifies she does not want to marry Sunset just yet, she says that if she is going to be in a relationship with her she wants to do things that matter to her, showing how serious she takes the relationship.
- Pinkie, Sunset, and Adagio discover another photo, this one of Applejack, Rarity, Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle together. It also confirms that Applejack and Rarity were Happily Married together, and Sweetie Belle was also married but it is unknown to whom. Due to the state Applejack and Rarity are in after the deaths of their sisters, they decide to wait before telling them, but agree to tell them eventually since the amnesiac lovers have a right to know.
- Diamond Tiara attempts to turn over a new leaf and be nicer after the second trial. Though everyone is skeptical of her at first, they are willing to give her a second chance. She seems to earns Sunset's forgiveness when she opens up to her and shares her own secret about her Dark and Troubled Past with her.
- After Sci-Twi had taken a huge level in jerkass towards everyone, especially Sunset and Flash, saying how she doesn't trust anyone anymore, having Flash comfort her as she bursts into tears in his arms and telling her he forgives her is pretty heartwarming.
- Sunset attempts to help Pinkie when it becomes increasingly obvious she is descending into drugs, and guilt is eating away at her following Fluttershy's death. Though it ultimately didn't work out the way she hoped, it becomes clear Pinkie appreciated her help and advice. The last entry in Pinkie's diary before her death is even thanking Sunset for her help, knowing what she needs to do.
- When Sci-Twi and Applejack attempt to accuse Diamond Tiara of being the culprit that tricked Pinkie and killed Fluttershy, Rarity and Sunset speak in her defense. It really shows how much they are willing to trust her after everything she did previously.
- Rainbow is absolutely relieved to know that she wasn't the one who killed Pinkie.
- When suspicion begins to fall to Adagio as Pinkie's true killer, Sunset never directly accuses her, and simply looks into her eyes to look for any signs of guilt, and finding none.
- Although also doubling as a tearjerker, when Sci-Twi is sentenced to execution, she and Flash use their last moments together to tell each other they love them, with Flash even managing to share a Last Kiss with her, quickly planting his lips on hers, before she is pulled away from him.
- When Flash is left in a devastated state after watching Sci-Twi's execution, weeping heavily, Sunset stays by his side and holds him close, allowing him to hold on to her and cry all he wants, even as she sheds a few tears herself. Also, Adagio, who has shown previously to value herself, and Sunset to an extent, more than the other passengers, helps them both to their feet and allows Flash to hold on to her arm as well in a Group Hug, even if it is clear she Hates Being Touched by him.Adagio: Don’t get used to this.
Flash: (smiling through tears) I won’t. - Sunset notes that Flash and Rainbow have become friends in Chapter 4. They most likely bonded over both of them losing someone they cared about due to Monoponi. Even if Rainbow is using Flash as a Replacement Goldfish for Fluttershy, having someone to comfort the way she used to do for her, Sunset notes it is still a healthier coping mechanism than others they have seen.
- Adagio tells Sunset she loves her. Even if it was just a slip of the tongue, and she immediately tries to cover it up without acknowledging it, it still leaves Sunset wondering her own feelings for Adagio, wondering if she loves her too.
- And then in the very next part, Sunset manages to encourage Adagio to say it to her directly, which cements Sunset's feelings, leading to Sunset saying "I love you too."
- In part 3 of Chapter 4, Sunset decides she still wants to be friends with Trixie after all, after seeing her punishing herself through starvation and lack of hygiene, showing she was truly remorseful.Sunset: Because friends don't let friends hurt themselves.
- Then in part 4, Rarity also declares she will rekindle her friendship with Trixie, after seeing Trixie's remorse, and subsequently the three of them have a little party in Trixie's room.
- In Part 1 of Chapter Five, Sunset and Adagio have a brief encounter in the access corridor, where Adagio talks about how much she loves Sunset and expresses her affection in a gentle way that she never had before.
- In Part 8 of Chapter Five, when everyone sees Sunset is alive, everyone is cheering, with Applejack even waving her hat around.
- Also in Part 8, everyone admits that they would be willing to die for Sunset just to keep her alive, even Diamond Tiara.
- After the final trial in Chapter Six, when it looks like everyone is doomed to die in a nuke explosion together, rather than cry over it or plead for some way out, they all spend their supposed final moments together happily, reminiscing together and glad to be together.
- Sunset tells them more of their pasts together, since she has her memories back. Such as Applejack and Rarity's wedding.
- After Diamond Tiara teases Applejack and Rarity to just kiss already, Rarity retorts that they should be saying that about her and Scootaloo. Tiara is left stunned by this, blushing deeply, only for Scootaaloo to surprise her with a quick kiss on the cheek.
- Princess Twilight admits she was fine with her old crush, the Human Flash Sentry, getting together with her own human counterpart, since she lost her crush on him sometime ago.
- Right as the countdown nears its end, everyone is given a new ray of hope when Shining Armor calls in on Princess Twilight's radio, revealing that he survived Cozy's attack on The Avenger and can get them out of there.
