Episode 36: Oh Captain, Who's Captain?
  • Despite having a justifiable reason to kill him, Jester asks Caduceus to save the Sole Survivor of the ship's crew, partially to get information, but because she hadn't intended to kill him to begin with. While the man they saved is rightfully confused, Jester still makes it clear that the fighting from the previous episode was not what they intended, and feels remorseful for injuring him.
  • A number of characters get touching heart-to-hearts in this episode, reflective of the intense days they've been through:
    • Jester helps a practically catatonic Caduceus find some hope and faith as he questions his life's mission.
    • Caleb gives Nott a piggy-back ride as they make plans to keep the group together, and Caleb finally admits that he really does care for the group.
    • Fjord and Jester watch a group of glowing jellyfish go by, and talk about sadness and regret, assuring each other that they'll take care of each other.
    • Caleb turns Frumpkin into a Speckled Elf Owl and lends him to Beau for a week to make her feel better after Professor Thaddeus flew away.
    • Caduceus asks Nott why she's been so nice to him, and she tells him how being part of the Mighty Nein has changed her life for the better.
    • Fjord admits to Beau that his powers have been frightening him, and they promise to keep each other in check.

     Episode 37: Dangerous Liaisons
  • When Avantika asks the group for their names Jester claims hers is "Sapphire", a nod to her mother's nickname for her. It's so sweet the live audience goes "awww" in response.
  • Caleb finally used the "f" word in front of the entire group. Even though Nott called him out on making it sound like a question, Caleb explicitly called the Mighty Nein his friends. Contrast to earlier episodes where he more thought of them as protection and just fellow travelers - he's been very slow to defrost, but his fire has thawed him out.
  • Although it’s extremely charged with sexual tension through the majority of it, Fjord and Avantika’s chat has a surprisingly heartwarming moment, where Fjord thanks Avantika for telling him the truth, and how he doesn’t feel quite so alone anymore. Avantika seems to agree with the sentiment.

Episode 39: Temple of the False Serpent
  • Remember the exchange between Beau and Jester after Miss Lavorre, Fjord, and Yasha were rescued? Namely that Beau "would have laid down [her] life for [them]" and that Jester "would've healed [her] back"? Turns out Beau stays true to her word as she nearly died standing her ground against the hydra within the temple. She would've indeed died if it weren't for Nott killing the yuan-ti abomination (whose turn was right after Nott's and would've flat-out killed Beau) and Jester staying true to her word by bringing her friend back from the brink.

     Episode 40: Dubious Pursuits
  • Fjord gives Jester all of his air to save her from drowning - being willing to sacrifice himself because Jester had the key to the exit.
  • When everyone sprays up out of the temple, Caleb casts Feather Fall on all of the Nein... except Caduceus, who was already in death saves and would automatically die upon impact with the ground. Liam defended his decision as Caleb choosing to target the people he's most familiar with, adding that "I already said it, I can't change it". So Nott cast Feather Fall on everyone else, outright saving Caduceus. In the rapidly-flowing river that followed, the cast had Jester use her final spell slot to cast Cure Wounds on him.
  • When Caleb hit double exhaustion in the jungle and lost half his speed, Caduceus and Yasha both thought of picking him up and leaving nobody behind.
  • Even in the last leg of the sprint back to the Squall Eater, the Eater's crew fired cannonball after cannonball to ensure their captain and her entourage's safe return, and Avantika made it clear that the Nein had more than proven themselves worthy of joining her crew in the place of some of the current members.
  • Before he leaves to speak to Avantika in her cabin Nott hands Fjord one of her home-made vials of acid "just in case" and says she'll stay awake until he returns. Caduceus follows up by casting "Protection from Poison" on him. In the end he doesn't need either, but it's sweet to know his friends wanted him to be safe and able to defend himself if Avantika had tried to hurt him.

     Episode 41: A Pirate's Life for Me
  • Caleb gives the Periapt of Wound Closure to Caduceus, noting that the latter will get more use out of it. It also acts as something of an apology for failing to catch him with Feather Fall in the previous episode, and the generally rough time Caduceus has had since joining the group.
Liam: It just feels right that it's with you.

     Episode 43: In Hot Water
  • Fjord looks out for Caleb three times during the fight - first, he gets the Squishy Wizard out of combat, then he prioritizes getting Caleb a healing potion, then he yells out when Caleb's flames overwhelm his senses once again.
  • Jester mentions that she's been using Sending to contact Kiri. Communication is stilted due to the spell's word limit and Kiri's only being able to repeat phrases, but Jester's been able to convey how much she loves and misses the young Kenku.
  • When Caleb, Beau, and Nott are talking on the ship later in the episode, Caleb is the one to bring up just how stressful the whole ocean trip has been on Fjord, and openly worries a bit.

     Episode 44: The Diver's Grave
  • The animated intro for the Mighty Nein debuts. The usually hardass and unflappable Beau is blushing while looking at Yasha.

     Episode 45: The Stowaway
  • Beau approaches Fjord and asks if, now that he's the de facto Captain of the ship, he could train her to be his First Mate. Fjord warns her that it's a lot of responsibility but immediately accepts and has her shake on it.
  • After Caduceus goes after Fjord and the group, Caleb and Nott dawdle in the study, attempting to procure some of the tomes filled with knowledge, until Caleb decides the Mighty Nein are worth more to him.
Nott: Are you sure you got all the- we need the spellbooks.
Caleb: I need them, let's go.
  • When Jester feels abandoned during the fight with the dragon, the Traveller's voice echoes, letting her know that he is by her side, even guiding her shield arm to deflect the dragon's attacks. The Traveller is my co-pilot indeed.
  • Nott intentionally taking an attack of opportunity from the dragon (which drops her to 1 HP), so that Jester can get out of its range safely. When Laura realises what Sam's doing she pulls him into a hug.
    • Caleb (and Liam by extension) is visibly upset by this, and spends the rest of the episode doting on Nott and ignoring the books they find, showing just how concerned he was for her.
  • When Twiggy says goodbye, Jester asks if she doesn't want to stay. Twiggy admits that, while they've been her best and only friends, she's lived her whole life in a box and wants to go explore the world.
  • When Nott inquires if Caleb is okay, he responds by requesting she jump up for a hug, which Nott gives him, along with a kiss on the nose and one of the books she took from the study. Caleb tells her he'll look at it tomorrow and they should get some rest first.
  • Caduceus and Beau discuss the events of the episode and note how everyone else is worn down and miserable from their near-death experience. Caduceus says that it's up to him and Beau to take care of the others, including comforting and feeding them and showing them the good work they've done.

Episode 46: A Storm of Memories
  • When she first joins the rest of the Nein at breakfast, Yasha is unusually cranky and standoffish. It's soon revealed to be something akin to Anger Born of Worry, as she was very worried for their safety during the week the rest of the party were trapped in the Happy Fun Ball of Tricks.
  • Caduceus approaches a local blacksmith to ask if she can repair a broken sword he purchased several episodes ago as a gift for a friend. At the end of their interaction the blacksmith asks if she can have a hug, openly admitting that he's so big and fuzzy that she was curious as to what it would be like. Caduceus is delighted and pulls her into a Bear Hug.
  • Beau and Jester have a heartfelt conversation where Beau tells Jester how much she admires her. They both had lonely childhoods, but while Beau channeled her loneliness into destructive habits, Jester channeled hers into creativity. It ends with a Platonic Declaration of Love and Beau calling her "Jess".
  • Beau's Character Development shines through again when she admits to Caduceus that she feels kinda bad about neglecting the rest of the ship's crew and wants to do something nice for them like a nice dinner.

     Episode 47: The Second Seal
  • Jester's concern for Fjord as he goes to break the second seal. First, by praying to the Traveller and asking him to look after Fjord. Second, by asking him not to turn evil (or at least, not turn evil to her) but assuring him that if he does, she's still willing to be his friend.
  • Fjord gives the ship over to the Orly to do what he likes with it. Orly tells him that, while he'll own the ship in paper and name, Fjord is the true captain.
  • Caleb expresses pride in how well Nott has dealt with their water adventures and how far her magic has come.
  • Caduceus asks the Wildmother about Vandran. Even after Fjord had expressed his acceptance of leaving things as they were, Caduceus took that next step on his own.
