San Francisco
- All Gabriel knows about Adam is that Ash and Laura like him. He offers to let Adam take him prisoner and turn him over to the Cabal to give Gabriel a chance to get the talisman away from Wren, and returns Patrick's watch to Adam. It's clear their encounter did a lot to pull Adam back from the Despair Event Horizon
- Despite the fact that Adam has kidnapped and threatened Professor Kravitz, the professor still takes the time to comfort Adam and reassure him with some good advice
- Laura getting Adam to open up a little
Wren
- Though Patrick is clearly wowed by Adam's abilities, his initial reaction isn't to fanboy how awesome Adam is, but to offer him words of comfort and sympathy.
- The relationship that develops between Stasya and Adam. They call each other Mama Bear and Baby Bear
- Adam tells Patrick and Stasya about the talisman. Without missing a beat they start planning how to get it away from Wren and set him free.
The Signal
- Stasya protects and looks after Adam's family

Storm's Mercy
- Despite not being blood related, Adele, Greg, and Natalya clearly care about each other as a family
- After bonding with Adele, Greg, and Natalya, Yalathanil is unwilling to allow random humans to be injured.
- When it's revealed that Adele is in a sniper's crosshairs both Greg and Yalathanil immediately step in front of her.
- Adele tells Jormun You Are Better Than You Think You Are. The World Serpent is clearly touched by the words, and repays that small kindness with interest.
- The relationship between Jormun and Mbaba has shades of this. Jormun is quite clearly ready to sacrifice everything to protect her, and Mbaba's feelings toward him have overtones of maternal. The maternal aspect takes on another facet when it is revealed that rather than simply being the youngest dragon, Jormun is only half dragon. Mbaba may actually be his mother figure
War
- Professor Kravitz refuses to assist the party until Laura tells him the purpose of the mission is to save Adam. The professor is then all in.
- Ash is still struggling with his issues and trying to find a way to contribute to the group rather than being The Load. He can't use a gun because of his issues. So Gabriel starts teaching him to use a sword.
- Adam is clearly a Benevolent Boss, and he and the werewolf he beat up to take over the pack have become good friends.
- Magda starts to be the least bit threatening toward Bridget. Khait teleports her to the middle of the Sahara desert without batting an eye.
- How utterly thrilled both Ash and Laura are to hear Adam's voice. It's not lost on Adam either.
- Khait, a demon, meets Gabriel, an angel. They hug.
- Laura starts calling Michaels 'Dad'. The bond is enough that Khait picks up on it supernaturally.
- Khait acknowledges that Michaels is also a brother to Gabriel, and rather than be jealous decides that means he and Michaels are going to be friends.
- Adam and Lidia are reunited, and Adam gets some desperately needed hugs.
- Upon being reunited with his sister, Adam uses his shapeshifting ability to let her ride everything from an ostrich to a gorilla. And despite his own impressive powers, he pronounces her green thumb the 'coolest thing he has ever seen'.
- The Wu family includes Stasya in their family hugs
- Khait refers to Bridget as his best friend
- Anna uses her mental powers to show Adam what Magda's long-dead children look like. Adam uses his skills as an artist to paint their portrait, giving Magda the chance to see their faces again and finally show Matthias his lost siblings.
Beneath
- Viktor loves his daughter the first moment he lays eyes on her
- The dragon-built walls in Viktor's mind come down the moment he hears his daughter's cry for help
- Luis giving Katya the charm bracelet, becoming the first person to really accept this little monster as she is.
The White Wolf
- When Stephan gets trapped in the land of the dead, it's Patrick's spirit that comes and helps him out.
