Headscratchers / Judgment

  • Why did Yagami become a lawyer if he cared so much about helping people? Why not a cop?
    • An especially good question to ask since Yagami is clearly far better off as a detective than he was as a lawyer, having developed a knack for it and even made a few new friends along the way in Fumiya and Higashi on top of befriending much of the townsfolk in Kamurocho. That being said, the best possible answer for this could be that Yagami either wasn't interested in that particular line of work or wanted to operate on his own terms without the red tape of being a cop.
      • The latter could be the best explanation seeing as Yagami frequently finds himself butting heads with the Yakuza (particularly Hamura and the Kyorei Alliance)... something that wouldn't happen as often if he were a cop.

  • Yagami became a lawyer because his father was one, and Genda is one and he regards Genda as being like a father.
